Maddison not playing? I don't get that, unless he's still carrying that iffy knee/ankle injury. When did he rejoin the squad for training? I thought it was last week. He should be rested, match fit and ready to roll. I don't get why we'd have given him time off when he hasn't been playing.

Madders not playing is beyond ridiculous. At least have him on the bench for the last 30 if chasing a game. The only exception being is if he is legitimately injured.

Other than a forum suggestion, I've only read the beeb saying there's a late assessment on his knee. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I can't imagine we'd go into this game without him unless he is carrying some kind of injury.

Was told his knee is still a problem. Everyone lost their shit when Southgate didn’t play him but apparently if he played more than twenty minutes, he would need most of the week off to recover.

I believe this has substance - we have three games in a week 

 

I don’t think we see him involved until Fulham - possibly after the fa cup weekend

Rodgers in his Pre match press conference did say that he wasn't sure on Maddison because he still has an issue with his knee.

He was never right before he went to the WC ..then didn’t train for the first 2 weeks.

we all know how much it meant to him being in the squad but let’s be honest all it has done is put us without his services.

Maddison is obviously a top player.  I am reading many comments saying he has to play.  Eighteen months ago there was a weight of opinion to get rid of him.   He has been criticized before when his performances dipped when he played when carrying an injury.   

 

I know as little as anyone here.  But to my mind,  a fully fit Maddison would be desperate to play.
