Surely we can’t take on any center backs with injury doubts? We neee players who can hit the preverbial ground running and hit it fast. no time to lose as big games are coming up thick and fast and we need the points no mucking around!

Anything over £15-18m with add ons I'll be a bit indifferent on. That sort of fee gets you one of the most talented young CBs in France, Austria or Belgium.

15m UKP in Austria would get you around 6 promising youngsters let alone one CB.

There’s nothing to suggest his knee will go again. Yes he’s had a big injury, but he’s been back playing without any trouble since.
I’m sure before a transfer a full medical will take place.

....that attacker was pure Harvey Barnes, indecisive in what he needed to do when faced with this amount of space!!!

Good tackle by Souttar, but he should not have had the opportunity to win the ball, take that ball into the box and Souttar would have to do something else.

No pleasing some people!

Injured while turning head.

That’s not until we’ve signed him.

Smalling is 33.

And was an absolute wall when we played Roma. His positioning every time we got the ball was a masterclass in top level defending.

I’d take Smalling for the Evans / Huth role.

Not in stoke squad again

injured or head turned ?

Perhaps we don't want him cup tied so asked them not to play him while we check down the back of the sofa?

Or Stoke will sell quickly so they can sign another CB?

Maybe, good thing is, we won’t have long to wait to find out!

Connor Taylor, another of Stoke’s centre-halves, limped off injured today…

And their other starting CB just fell over his own feet trying a simple clearance off the line, allowing the goal.

They could go down ... will they risk hollowing out their central defense?

I wouldn’t be shocked if we signed a Centre half out of the blue in same way we did with Faes, we had been linked with a load and then Faes came in from left field. I would like to see Souttar sign but wouldn’t be shocked to see somebody not yet linked come in before the window closes.
