I've not read any of the thread except the OP but surely the players have to share a good chunk of the blame too.

Yes, agreed.

Half arsed, don't look bothered, overpaid, get the basics wrong, no fight.

All of them. We've got an awful squad, half of them aren't even likeable.

I think you would find those characteristics of a workforce in any workplace where the manager is an absolute demotivating cuntbag. A mismanaged workforce is never going to be efficient or enthusiastic. You turn up to get paid.

The more I think about it, the more embarrassing it is that the board have sat back and let Rodgers come out with some of things he has this season without so much as a reproach. Top and the rest of them have shown themselves to be very weak.

They’re all to blame. They can all leave. The sooner the better

...certainly not!!!

Not sure why people are apportioning blame on the owners, everyone seems to think he should be putting his hand in his pocket every time. We knew what they wanted and are at present in a situation where our salaries have become a major worry in respect of FFP.

This malaise surrounding the players can be placed squarely at the feet of the manager.

Top's failure to effectively communicate is something that he needs to take responsibility for,  but I do not expect him to be handing out pound notes everytime we hit a rough patch.

The board are to blame for indulging Rodgers and letting him do and say what he likes. Rodgers is to blame for being more interested in his own reputation.

Rodgers has to go first, we still enough in the squad to do well.

This sums it up in one short post to be fair.

I also think lack of investment for years from the owners too. It hasn't all gone on wages. Nor is it to do with FFP when you look at what Everton, West Ham and Newcastle spend on wages and transfers with no europe.

Both at fault to different extents. The owners have plenty of credit in the bank though and I still have faith that they can turn it around. Brendan, not so much (to put it mildly).

Both for me if we are to one day thrive at this level again like we did not so long ago.

At the end of the day the late Vichai did 'have a dream' but sadly that era is now all over and since the glitter of finally winning the FA Cup in 2021 has now dulled considerably too, I think Top needs to sell up and move on to a pastures new business venture away from here now and Brendan can probably join him to go and manage elsewhere if we lose at Forest this weekend! Clearly Top's King Power empire was badly hit by the pandemic and that has definitely filtered down to our seeming inability to be active in the transfer market since last season, when the whole team was crying out for a rebuild after a dismal season last time around in which we somehow finished 8th in the Prem.! - yet which is very much still the same as a year ago, if not slightly worse now - despite thigns liek the well documented injury crisis once again this season that was very prevalent last too - which brings more questions around Brendan and his coaching staff, the new training ground, etc, etc!

Whether it's just that Top doesn't trust Brendan to spend money he may have stashed away after the Fofana sale early season at the moment is still a moot point as when Top did give Brendan money to spend then we ended up with players like Perez who was never worth £30m!! Also an expired carthorse Betrand (who's played what ? - about 180 minutes of first team football in one and a half seasons?!), a donkey past his best (Vestergaard), while also seriously overspending on sheer mediocrity two summers ago like Daka and Soumare.....both of who I still don't think are good enough for Premier League level. Neither are as ineffective as previous expensive flops of yesteryear such as Akinbiyi and Trevor Benjamin but jeeez....on present viewing they're not far off!

Obviously the owners have to take the blame for the wage structure and more importantly, the number of sellable assets that we've not sold and are letting go on a free or a lot cheaper than they should have been (Cags, Tielemans, Maddison etc.), given that these things are controlled at board level in modern football.

But, the more I think about it, the more it becomes obvious that Brendan is just as culpable for this. He's obviously insisted that we keep these guys even if we lose them on a free, rather than sell them on as he needs them. Understandable to an extent but when he refuses to play Soyuncu, even somebody like Iheanacho, there's no way that that Top, Susan, Rudkin are sitting there allowing that potential money to go by unless the manager is insistent he wants to keep those players.

Changes needed at board level, even if just how things are approached but the manager absolutely has to be cut out for us to have any chance of moving forward and fixing things

There seems to be alot of the blame for our quite shocking demise rightfully being pointed at Brendan Rodgers. But there is definitely a shift in that more is being pointed towards the owners. Just interested to see where people are laying the blame currently. And whether it's the manager or the owners people want to see changed first.

For me it has to be the manager first because tactically he is inept. But then would new managers look at the total lack of ambition and investment from the owners and and not touch us with a barge pole? It's quite an unusual situation to have both a manager and an owner that might need to move on at the same time.

If Brendan stayed and Top sold up, would you give him a chance under new ownership and investment?

I disagree that he's tactically inept. He's just stubbornly wedded to a style and way of playing, and has no desire to mix it up or adjust to the opposition.

Why are people banging on about Top selling the club. That ain't gonna happen. As to BR, I'm almost as bored as hearing about how he should be sacked as I am about hearing about Prince Harry ATM.

Does anyone have anything positive to say? Or has this website been hijacked by Forest Fans...

Whilst the owners haven’t done themselves any favours with the recent penny pinching,  I do have a certain amount of admiration for the approach. It’s far too easy to throw money the club doesn’t have for a short term fix. I honestly reckon we’ll be looking at half a dozen Portsmouths in a few years, spending above their means, unsustainably, which will ultimately lead to relegation, fire sales and a collapse through the leagues.
However I really do think they have their head in the sand if they don’t think we can go down this season. They either need to back Rodgers one last time with some funds or sack him. This limbo we’re in is killing the club.
All that said, the training ground now seems to be the biggest ****ing waste of resources!

Yep, then they'll probably try for stadium expansion before investment in the team! That's all well and good when the team is in a good place, playing well and riding high but not so great if we do indeed end up back in the Championship next season!

It’s been a perfect storm.

FFP and owners severely hit in the

pocket by Covid, injuries to several key players, Brendan being Brendan.

We’re nearly halfway through the transfer window, where we supposedly have funds available, and games are drifting by and with every defeat we look less and less appealing as a club you would want to join.

The whole club seems to be ponderous and in some kind of malaises. There’s no sense of urgency or fight to be seen anywhere.
