If we can survive the first 20 minutes, we’ll pull off a shocker

I'll settle for a 0-0, I've seen enough reports with Leicester city and shocker in the same sentence ta!

I'd think both teams will score but we'll likely lose by a couple... but how I'd love to be proved wrong.

I hope they are knackered after Barca and we show up like it's our cup final and score another four like our last two games.

Win or lose, hopefully, we'll acquit ourselves well. If we do lose, then expect the same rabid, deranged pitchfork wielding mob who have  been mysteriously absent from the match and post-match threads for the last two games to reassemble and demand the owner's head on a plate.

In some ways I don't mind that , if people are consistent and like me , think Rodgers is life expired. Its those who change their minds from one result to the next who I don't get.

I think the mob you refer to has been much outnumbered by the number of sensible and measured posts quite rightly questioning what has been happening at our club this season.

The last 2 results have been great and made us all feel better however it does not erase what’s happened this season to date.I am sure we all hope the worst is behind us whether we questioned the club or not.

Then you've clearly missed some of the comments that I'm referring to alongside the thread replete with rumour and unsubstantiated b******s insisting that the owners should sell up. Some of these are the same ones that continually hatefully and vitriolically berated Ben Chilwell week in week out then complained when they ended up with Luke Thomas. lol. I swear these people deserve nothing more than a SISU/Joy Sepalla takeover.

My main point is that the same throng suddenly cease to comment when we score or God forbid win a match. Even when we string together a few decent phases they seem to fall silent in dismay. We actually had one member on here admit that they wanted us to lose.

Football is about form and confidence and the now. Irrespective of the past, the manager finally has us playing well partially on the back of what appears to have been several highly encouraging signings. It's understandable why the ownership pulled on the purse strings. Having weathered that, it's crucial that we get behind the team going forward through both the highs and the lows. The last year or so has been the absolute nadir following a decade of successes, but this continual anger, vitriol and outrage is not only toxic for those that have to endure it, but likely detrimental to the mental health of those consumed by it.

Good performance at the very least. Confidence will be much higher than it was a couple of weeks ago. Still can’t see a win, but I’d take a draw. We now know how to score goals and hopefully Tete will add a it of unpredictability to the play. Just don’t like the Mach up of Ward v Rashford, he’s been on fire recently

I will not blame individual players for our decline, that is futile. It is collective failure. I have always said that by and large our squad is plenty good enough for PL football but they have been underperforming. To me its motivation and that is largely down to the manager. That is his main job. After four years Rodgers is finding that much harder. Can the team self motivate? Well, the last two matches have shown they can and perhaps that is down to the example shown by the new arrivals. If they can keep that up then we will be fine. We still need a new coaching team though in my opinion.

As shop steward for the Rabid, Deranged and Pitchfork Wielders Union, I can assure you that we are most certainly not “mysteriously absent”.  If anything, we remain mysteriously here.

We are currently planning action to coincide with International It Was Only Two Matches day, in conjunction with Little Has Actually Changed At The Club month

In the spirit of comradeship, we have reached out to the National Union of Weak Minded Souls Who Lap Up Any Old Shit, but have still to reach an accord on the best way to move forward together.

Close defeat followed by a good result at home to Arsenal..

...Arsenal are notoriously a team we struggle against, 3 defeats in our Title winning season an 2 of those was against them!!!

Pretty much a chance here to collect some points as United I do not believe will be at full force and the biggest result will be turning Arsenal over.

Very noble, in the interest of club solidarity, I myself am volunteering at my local branch of PATUTB (Players Allegedly Thrown Under The Bus) and although the incidents have been decreasing, its been a difficult new decade.

Good luck in your new role, comrade.

Moving forward, would it be acceptable if we only threw them under the wheels of an optimistic bus?

Weve beaten them 4 times in the last 5 years, they are hardly world beaters. Im not saying we will beat them but i think we can take points off them at home

Man Utd key players: Eriksen is out for them, otherwise Casemiro, Martinez and Rashford who’s on form.

I don’t think we’ll lose this.

I’m glad Eriksen’s not playing, he’s arguably been their most impactful player this season.
