An incredible performance last night. And we know it's not a flash in the pan based on some of the saves we've seen from him in recent games and for Preston in the past.

He exudes confidence as well, which should hopefully spread to the rest of the defence given time. The way he carries himself is Premier League quality, there's absolutely no doubt about that.

His kicking leaves a little to be desired, though. In an ideal world, we shouldn't really be giving the ball back to the opposition so readily, but he's not the only player in our side who's guilty of that. Hopefully it's something that can be worked on.

But he has saved us points since he's come in, that is beyond question. We're in this fight thanks to several of our players, but he has played a massive part.

Absolute monster. Delighted for him.

I feel it really is time to trawl the Danny Ward thread for the "how do you know Iversen is better, do you watch him in training!?!?" lemons.

I think some people just get a kick out of being obtuse.

Just go back to the start of this thread 😂

It's funny that having him in goal and pulling off great saves, like last night or the Palace game, in a way highlights even more how shambolic we are.

Superb display, Kasper esq.

He can work on his distribution, looks a bit panicked at times on what to do, but that will come with experience.

Great to have what looks to be a #1 for years to come.

Yeh it boggles the mind how this guy was left out in the cold. Even the average person on the street could guess who is the better keeper ffs. I mean cmon we all saw it in Iverson's cup display's but Rogers knew best and so we had to shut up and put up. I question our GK coach too as he's the guy who should be putting his neck and his reputation on the line screaming at rogers to replace ward with Iverson. Why didn't he speak up or did he and was ignored? I guess we will never know. Iverson is a shot stopping beast! Kasper was on the commentary panel today and I'm sure he saw some of himself in Iverson. He was bummed we lost. Kasper's heart is still in Leicester.

I remember Rodgers' interview with RL clear as day after Iversen's heroics at Stockport. He said, "Danny Ward is our clear no.1". Not "our no.1", but "our CLEAR no.1". Absolutely beggars belief.

He's getting better and better. Kept us in the game at times, when at times the midfield went walkies

Could be a top top Premier League keeper

Here we go again,  you didn't know. Nobody here knew, nobody had seen more than a couple of games of him playing for Preston and we'd not seen him in the premier league for us.

We knew what Ward was like as we'd seen him a few times at least, but until recently we had no idea how good or bad this lad was. It's no different to people proclaiming Tete was going to be amazing off the back of a few games watched in a different league, and it turns out he's utter muck.

It's not a hard concept to grasp.

Hold up, how did any of us *know* he was better than Ward? I don't recall anybody being overly passionate about either of them being first choice this season. I hoped we'd give Iversen a chance based on some rave reviews from his previous clubs but there was always a "but that was in the Championship/League 1" cloud over those with a number of people on here.

It was literally a case of international GK who is solid at best and has waited for this opportunity Vs unproven talent going in to this season. Fair to say now he's proving he should have been in the team since day one however anybody claiming they knew all along Iversen was capable of last night's performance is lying.

I also don't think anyone would be unhappy to admit that they were wrong either (I'm certainly not), given how well Iversen has done.

Fair play to him for stepping up.

Wouldn't say Iversen was anymore unproven than Ward at this level, I think a fair few were fairly keen on him starting the season and were miffed that after seemingly planning for years for him to take over once Kasper left we plumped to give Ward the chance instead.

It's not my fault you backed the wrong horse pal.

Anyone who had seen any of Iversen's highlights for Preston could see he was decent. He had better stats than Ward from the off. If Ward was better than Iversen he wouldn't have been a career backup keeper.

Like I say it's not my fault you got it wrong.

It wasn't even a close call on here as to whether it should be Ward or Iversen

At the start of August the vast majority on here wanted Iversen as our number 1

Exactly what I was thinking last night. It felt like Kasper in goal. He is also quite commanding from corners. A couple of times he came out and collected.

The games he has had, the potential. There is no reason not to continue and allow him to develop for us
