Any chance I can throw in some more names here?

You can try but you'll probably go over your post count for the day

I do not want to see these 3 players ever in a Leicester shirt again. Please leave our club. Not on loan, just put in your transfer request and go. And kindly request your boss to do the same. I'm tempted to boycott games if any of these 3 start. (probably won't but tempted)

I hear you, but they dont put themselves in the starting 11. Past few weeks they havent been playing, it was Brendan that decided to chuck them in against Blackburn and to be honest they should have been good enough, but if you dont have the heart for the fight you end up 2-0 down like we did. If you were offered a job on less money and had to work harder would you take it? Exactly which is why we have mediocre players at best sat on their arse 9 games out of 10 happy to pick up their oversized salaries. Yes they are arent good enough but asking them to hand in a transfer request is madness. The club is to blame for having sh1t players on salaries that no other club will entertain. We're currently broken and its going to take some very strong guidance to steer us out of it.

We are currently paying arguably the best striker we've ever had at the club 140k per week, allegedly. The guy has fallen off a cliff this season and quite frankly gives us absolutely nothing when he plays, you want him to hand in a transfer request also?

Unfair bar Soumare.

Rodgers has slagged these players off publicly for a lack of quality but then selects them. Not just that but continually enforces a style of play they are not capable of on them.

You either play them and adapt or don't play them at all.

This!

He not only selects them. He should be aware of their limitations - every good coach is. Yet plays them both. Alongside a novice keeper, a potential bomb scare defender and a RB who is short of match fitness. He then ask them to play the only way he knows how and that way is not suited to them. He has no ability to adapt to his players like an average coach should.

I wouldn’t mind any of these players leaving but the manager has chucked them under the bus and is no pressing reverse to finish the job.

These 3 players effectively fully contributed to our initial confident start evaporating into thin air beyond 15+ minutes.

Having all 3 in effect as part of our defense, its no wonder how unstable the whole performance became as each minute passed.  All three were absolutely dire.

Amartey agree. Thomas needs a loan but could come good. Soumare needs time as there have been a few good performances and I think there’s definitely a player there.

Thomas has gone backwards since the FA Cup win but to be fair a lot of that will be down to the manager.

Not buying into the notion that "confidence" is causing these inept performances. Sure, it plays a part. You can use that to excuse the odd misplaced pass or backwards pass. What it doesn't excuse is a lack of trying. Both Soumare and Thomas have played like they don't give a shit, all season. Jogging about. Half hearted tracking back and tackling.

Another knee-jerk and, frankly, stupid and unfair post from someone seeking to apportion blame to assuage his (?) pain at what happened last evening.

God knows where to start trying to find a reason for these underperformances, but it's lying in lack of confidence, belief in the team and self-belief.

The next question is what is at the root of this. Why can a team put four past competent Premier opponents and then cave in to a lower league side.

Maddison's absence is part of the problem, but, even without him, City have the better players. I might be being dogmatic here, but why does Rodgers not field his strongest team for a game like this? This was a critical game in terms of building confidence, progressing in a meaningful competition and stopping the rot.

Don't select players you've identified as second choice - who've probably lost match fitness, certainly confidence, who're playing in the first team for the first time in a long time (Iverson) and, chiefly, who aren't used to the formation.

Rodgers, you berk, you, like those donkey generals in the First WW, sent out a team ripe for mowing down. You had yet another opportunity to rescue a result and you blew it. Kristiansen, Castagne, Faes and Souttar - all competitive players - all should have started and done 90 minutes. Ward - because he's the current regular. KDH and Vardy - because they're a couple of terriers. Iheanacho - because he's currently the smartest finisher we have. Barnes - because he can skin a defence like Blackburn's. Mendy - because he's grown with the responsibility given to him. And it's unfortunate that Albrighton is elsewhere - because he gives his all...whatever the situation. But Téte, in that line-up, was the best choice.

Then the instruction should have been go for the throat, instead of dope-on-the-rope, wait and see, that Rodgers appears to prefer. These are Premier players who should outperform lowlier sides. Rodgers surrendered that advantage before the match started.

Then, if and when, the goal comes, keep going for the throat. Throw Daka on to upset the pattern, but keep Iheanacho on, whatever. Replace Téte with Pereira at some point.

The time to bring on Thomas, Soumare and Amartey is when you've got the game tied down. Or shove Wilf on as insurance. But don't single out Thomas or Amartey for recriminations. Thomas showed everyone what an enthusiastic kid is capable of two seasons ago. He's not an overpaid, sloppy, lazy guy like others at this club. Dan Amartey just is too cautious and indecisive under pressure.

The buck has to stop at Rodgers.

You can't blame Brendan for selecting the players he has.

The FA cup is clearly not a priority right now due to our league position and form and we need to try and keep those on the fringes and recovering from injury game time.

Where is this Soumare good publicity coming from? Amartey has also had a few good games! So does the same apply to him?

West Ham and Everton games. He showed good signs there and then got injured. Reckon there’s a player there but would take a lot of extraction from management so won’t happen.

Yeah my point being that overall he’s not a good player. However, I agree that there is no chance with Rodgers in charge, despite him insisting on playing him ahead of those more deserving.

When we beat MK Dons 3-0 in December I posted that Luke Thomas was the Syston Pirlo.

That went well lol

I hope there is a role at City for Luke.  He had a stinker yesterday but so did quite a few others.
