Nigel Pearson would reject us imo. He's got a good thing going with Bristol City and only a matter of time before they achieve promotion

He wouldn't!

Mark Robins although different in demeanour would stink of when Southampton appointed Jones

I meant if we went down.

Probably get dogs abuse for this, but I think Hassenhuttl is a good manager, and very few would have kept Southampton alive and kicking the way he did with the squad he had.

I would take him over Rodger’s as a realistic option, would prefer Frank but don’t think he’d come.

He will never get Bristol City up. What has even given you that idea? They are mid table at best which is why they are always around those positions.

Cause he’s building something special just like he did here. Their fans love him.

Behave. That’s a dreadful list, including a couple who are supposedly retired.

It is a dreadful list, no arguments here but it's where we are.

No manager who is doing well (why would we look at one that's not) is going to leave his current club to come into a relagation battle and sign a long term deal for a club when their first full season MIGHT be in the Championship.

No top manager without a club is going to sign a long term deal for the same reasons, they're not going to sign a short term one because being relegated will hurt their reputation and chances of getting another big club. So it's a risk.

From our POV, getting a manager without any PL experience is a risk given they will need time to adjust to the league and we aren't in the position to afford them that.

So again, IMO we will be looking at someone who would come in short term, is out of a job and has managed in the league before and like it or not, that is the list of managers that fit that criteria.

If we stay up, whether it be with Rodgers or one of those then our options widen and become a lot more exciting in the summer but like I said initially, given where we are... I think we need to lower our expectations.

I think from that list Benitez might be a punt, but only as a sticking plaster.

He’d sort out the defence for sure

Worked well in that he took them from bottom to outside the relegation places when they sacked him

They would probably have still gone down, thats why they sacked him, in the belief it would give themselves a better chance of staying up, in the same way that most of us want Rodgers sacked, for the exact same reason..  I say again he has failed at every club he has been at since he left us.

There are soooooo many managers out there that would do a better job you don’t even need to know a name. You could pluck some bloke from Bulgaria and they’d be better. Heck even the Birch would do a better job. We just need a new face

They said that when Peter Taylor was sacked, Dave Bassett came in and took us down.

That’s great I don’t care. We will stay up without him.

You should care because whilst I agree it looks like Rodgers time is coming to a natural end, it doesn’t mean things will get better with a new manager.

Go on then! Name me a club he has succeeded at or a list of achievments he has at any of the clubs he has been at since he left Leicester.

Look at the defenders he had for the majority of his reign. We signed two of them! Bertrand and Vestergaard were two of their best players… and he kept them up.

He got Leipzig up to 2nd in Bundesliga in his first season in that league, he is no mug.
