It's too late.

Those in the squad who aren't broken physically are broken mentally. There are too many leaving and therefore not invested in keeping us up and none of those staying have a strong enough mentality to effect change on the pitch.

No one is saving us now, as I've been saying every key point where we should've sacked Rodgers but failed to act.

The club completely failed to plan for the season. This is what you get.

You're right. But we can't give up completely

Btw I'm not suggesting Peter Gabriel might save our season. Give the gig to Kate! lol

Completely agree with this, but the reality is, the supporter’s motivation is about as low as the players’ is! It’s not going to happen, our fanbase isn’t capable of generating an atmosphere unless the football is good.

And that’s the shame, because it is the only area we have control over. Home games against the likes of Villa, Bournemouth, Wolves, Everton and West Ham will settle what happens to us this season and whilst we want something more on the pitch, we are going to need to give something extra off the pitch.

Beat those 5 and we stay up. It's doable but will it happen?

I don't know much about him too be honest. Out of all the managers without a club, I'd be looking at Marcelino or if he somehow would like a chaotic brief stint in the Midlands- AVB.

AVB would be interesting. Didn’t Mourinho regard him as one of the greatest tactics minds he’d come across.

He’s just been a bit underwhelming.

100% agree mate 👍🏻

Because we need such a reset, we just need someone to give the place a lift in the short term, pray that it works and look at longer term appointments for whichever league we are in from now.

So essentially we need to win all of those games to stay up.. I don’t see that happening under Rodgers, May win 3/5 at most.

I mean, injury permitting we’ve got the annual “Youri remembers the transfer window is opening soon” 6 game spell… that might do it lol

Just seen MOTD and Amartey and Faes were shocking. Amartey statuesque for second goal putting arm up hoping for offside and Faes rash challenges and not closing down the cross for the third goal. Just got to hope that Jonny Evans can bring some organisation back and quality to the backline.

We are poor but I'm not giving up hope just yet. KDH scores that sitter and we possibly get a point. Evans back (up to speed?) should help. Limp over the line and cheerio BR in June and a MASSIVE reboot.

I have said it before but it still applies. Our players should not meekly accept their fate playing a system that they have no faith in They are good players and we know that. Stand up to Rodgers and insist he changes his tactics , if he won't , then ignore him and play the way you are comfortable with.

It’s the hope that kills you!

Chances are there will be no viable long term option available right now. Best case scenario if we do aim to attempt a longer term appointment is that we get someone that keeps us up but then who isn’t a right fit next season, ala Lampard at Everton or Marsch at Leeds.

In the summer we have the biggest resets of the playing squad since possibly the summer before League One. We absolutely can’t afford to go into that with a short term manager who was hired just to keep us up (Benetiz, Smith etc) or a ‘best of a bad bunch’ longer term appointment (Nuno, Lampard, Gerrard, Hassentutl…any other recent Premier League cast off).

Hopefully there is a good long term solution that may be willing to come now, but if not I don’t think any of the obvious options will create much of a reaction from the fans, nor be the sort of manager to rebuild and take us forward next season.

Sensible option would be to go with Knudsen, with Stowell and Sadler assisting. He has some managerial experience and hasn’t been at the club long enough to become entrenched in Rodgers style of play.

One thing I am not is a sheep.. but you are choosing a man who has run this club into the ground with bad decisions on transfers, bad line ups and tactics over a family who has saved this club and brought us years of excitement! if it wasn't for them BR wouldn't have ever come here in the first place!

Just cause i dont have the same empathy towards the ownership doesnt mean i dont appreciate what they have done, i see this as a business and i dont think they are upto the standards and investment required to compete anymore. i said this in an earlier post discussion, but the LCFC business model in the PL does not work anymore. Theres no patience in football. and its a depressing model.

I was about to say the same thing. Like Maddison he adds that little bit of extra quality in the middle. Bringing evans on yesterday was important. We could do with a great spell from him to help push us over the line.

Those crying out for a Sean Dyche type manager, counter attacking and direct football - Pepe Bordalas is your man.

I'm warming more towards Benitez until the end of the season. The defence is the massive problem. We need someone to bin Ward first.

He’s just been a bit underwhelming.

While it might be true that AVB is a great tactician he would need the opportunity to develop and coach a squad to play the way he wants to play.  We simply don’t have time for that.

We have too many players who are technically too limited to play the way Rogers wants us to and I suspect the same would be true of AVB.  We need a coach who is first and foremost a motivator who can tap into whatever drives each individual whether it is a love of their boyhood club or a desire to get a ‘big move’.  The problem he (or she!) has is that for most of this squad they are at, or beyond, the limits of their abilities and have no emotional connection to the club so all they can realistically be motivated by is a contract renewal.

In 16-17 Claudio tried to change the way the team played with disastrous results.  Shakey came in, tapped into the team spirit from the previous season and got us back playing in a way the players were familiar with.  Sadly any new manager doesn’t have the option of this approach.

What we need is someone with a simple system that they can all understand and implement, even if it is as boring as fúck for the rest of the season.

Dyche was probably the man but that ship has sailed so I really have no answer.

...anyone standing up to Rodgers would be dropped!!!

Players like Maddison would come to his defence and if we already do not have a fractured team, then we surely would have one now.

I would understand you more if you thought they should all go, wherever Rodgers has gone he's left the club in a mess
