There is not a single thing we can do which would strive to make things even worse than they currently are. I'm fuming. They aren’t going to say anything different to what they have to Owen - straight bat. Could mean anything. Could be absolutely true. and if we did get someone in by tomorrow, they aren’t going to take the team for Saturday

They're just going to tell him he's in charge till he isn't. But if they don't get anyone in for this must win game, I'm not sure Man City away is a great introduction. Better Man City away for you first game where you are not expected to win, than Man City away for the last match of the season.

He did an incredible job, but the game has changed massively and he's had zero involvement in football for years. 1

MON would achieve this in bucket loads! 2

Rather go for an interim solution for the rest of this season that gives us the chance of a clean slate in the summer regardless of whether we stay up or not than give Benitez the chance to start next season in charge, would such an underwhelming appointment. You don't know that, the point is we might have a short term option and a long term option... we might have to pay for and then get rid of the short term option in the summer, to put the long term option in place. Just because he might demand an 18 month contract, doesn't mean we have to keep him. 1

People thought our recruitment was infallible a few years back, yet here we are. I hope Brighton can continue to disrupt the big teams but to be fair they have not had to deal with the strain of a European football, which up to this season hasn't even been close to happening even with Potter. We need to learn from our previous mistakes (basically signing Southampton players) made (2019-now) and rely on what actually produced the goods (recruitment from 2015-19). Arguably our best XI is still predominantly filled with players signed in that earlier period - a sad indictment of our issues. Hopefully a clean slate (with our PL status intact) can get us back to that level in a few years, and we can't really afford to get it wrong. 3

Smith would be interim. The interim pool is the smallest and the worst, but if it keeps us up, it’s the best option as it allows us to get someone much much better in the summer. The ‘permanent now’ pool is the one that is most dangerous as it leaves us stuck with someone like Hassenhutl, Marsch or Garcia going into our biggest rebuild ever. Good post, important distinction. I think if threw lots of money at it the interim pool becomes slightly better. 1
cruzFOX Posted 6 April 2023 Posted 6 April 2023 Arghhhhhhh!!!! This is so hopeless all I hear is we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t so lets not do anything. We have to halt this train wreck asap. It can always get worse but none of us want that. the 2 Charlie’s in charge are our only hope in what could be THE MOST important game for many seasons. If we win we have a chance to build on it and escape relegation. If we lose we could be cut adrift and no matter what positive results we scrape there on after will have minimal effect which is just the worst feeling in the world. Spending weeks reflecting on all the key moments throughout the season where any action could have kept us out of this mess. we are desperados!
gurru991 Posted 6 April 2023 Posted 6 April 2023 What worries me is that LCFC appears to never have had any kind of contingency plan in place ! Surely the possibility that Rodgers wouldn't last the season would have been discussed by upper management at some point in time. At one point it seemed that Leicester were well run and had a vision for the future but now we seem dazed & confused. Where did it all go wrong ??

Clubs fortunes are cyclical ......and at the moment Rogers and Rudders have removed the wheels from our cycle. Leicester will be back, but not without serious changes being made everywhere throughout the Club structure. KP know how to run a successful business, but unfortunately I think Top and Susan have trusted the wrong people and we are cattle trucked. Mork and Mindy will take out down for sure.
