I think he will still be signing EPL veterans even if we drop out of the EFL.

Anyone still in the game, and particularly a nearby club who do deals with us, is hardly going to criticise him. Absolutely pointless discussion.

 

His track record speaks for itself, and it’s becoming clear now just how bleak our finances are and will be for some time to come. The fact he’s still employed and strolls around I find absolutely incredible.

He was actually a lot more balanced than I thought he'd be before I clicked it.  But still quite uneducated on a lot of it as is anyone I hear on Talksport. 

 

It's so lazy, naive and insulting to say short memories. It almost reminds me of the completely deluded viewpoint that Ranieri was only sacked because of his accomplishment. When in actual fact he'd have been gone a lot quicker in that second season if he'd not won the league. Similar here in that without the success we had, there's not a chance the manipulation of the fanbase would have been there enough to enable this decline.

 

It's not that we forgot what happened, we can't ignore the biggest neglect in football history.

Just remember his call for patience a few months ago as we were plummeting like a stone to league one for only 2nd time in our history. He then backed that up by saying the plan was to become an established Premier League team again.

I mean that's most clubs plan. Showing some sort of radical plan to explain the need for patience would have been useful and might have actually got them some.

There has never been a plan whatsoever. They fully thought they had cracked it and that the fans would en masse kiss their arse for eternity with no questions asked. Some of the losers do still have this mentality. I think Aiyawatt still thinks he owns a top 5/6 club going through a blip.

A former England youth international has retired from football after losing passion for the game while at City.

Kelechi Chibueze grew up with the typical dreams of every young footballer, imagining himself climbing the ranks and making his mark on the professional stage. He first tasted lower organised football before catching the eye of some of the biggest academies in the country, representing England at youth level and earning a reputation as one of the brightest goalkeeping prospects of his generation.

Chibueze's journey took him through the elite systems at Chelsea and Leicester City, where he hoped to develop into a top flight player, before eventually signing for Sunderland, becoming a regular fixture with their under-21 side. Despite being part of first-team training sessions under Regis Le Bris, he never made a senior appearance for the Black Cats and was released at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, prompting him to walk away from the sport entirely at just 22 years old.

Even after his departure, the English found kindness in unexpected places, as Sunderland's Luke O'Nien quietly approached him in a hot tub, of all places, to offer support and share his own experience of being released by Watford. O'Nien urged Chibueze not to be disheartened, to keep pushing forward and to continue working hard, a gesture that meant a great deal to the young goalkeeper given the defender's own commitments to Sunderland's promotion push.

Chibueze's troubles, however, began long before his time on Wearside, with his spell at LCFC marking the point where his love for the game began to fade away. The LE2 organisation has faced repeated accusations of mistreating players, with chief football officer Jon Rudkin frequently at the centre of criticism from former members of the squad.

Shane Flynn spoke out publicly, essentially describing Rudkin as rude, robotic and openly dismissive when discussing the futures of players who had given years of service to the academy. Alex Smithies later echoed those concerns, recalling a particularly cold and insensitive dismissal that left him feeling undervalued and discarded after his time at King Power Stadium.

The goalkeeper's experience was no different, and in many ways far more damaging, as he watched his passion evaporate almost completely during his time at Seagrave (City's training ground). He asserted that all enjoyment was stripped away from football during his years with the Foxes, leaving him feeling empty and disillusioned with a career he had once dreamed of.

This damning indictment of the King Power culture adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for change, with many supporters arguing that the ownership group must step down as soon as possible to allow a fresh start. What makes Chibueze's story even more striking is the way he describes his daily existence at Leicester, where he felt less like a developing player and more like a prop for others.

The one-time Three Lions Under-16 explained how he was often used as little more than a mannequin during first-team training sessions, standing in so that senior goalkeepers could complete their drills while he received no meaningful coaching or game time himself. Whilst temporary transfers are blocked by Rudkin until he decides to leave, then eventually retire at 22.

He was out of his depth even when he was part of the academy before his multiple promotions.

 

Top is a disgrace for allowing this waste of space to run the football side of the club.
