The thought of seeing him run down the line jumping when we score will be a nostagic visual OF PURE JOY. #BRINGHIMHOME 4 hours ago, Zaphod Beeblebrox said: As opposed to staying where we are and staring relegation in the face? Baffling logic... He hasn't managed since 2019 and also he hasn't managed in the Premier League for a decade. Football has passed him by. Yes he is a legend for the club but he last managed us nearly a quarter of a century ago. 1

He’s not managed in ages, he’s too old and he’s not exactly been great in any of his recent jobs. But despite all of that. Fvck. Fvck. The thought of it. I’m totally, totally all in for it. He’s a legend. I can’t believe that being able to remember O’Neill makes you one of the older fans these days, that’s scary. But fvck if it wasn’t the best time ever. Big massive lumps at centre back scoring 10 goals a season each. A midfield trio as good as any in the league. The sweetest left foot in the world. An own goal magnet at RCB who we still loved. Top ten finishes. Two league cups. A team of misfits. Goalposts for jumpers. Shinning it in. Keeper substitution strokes of genius. “Martin, Martin O’Neill” to the tune of Go West. Annoying Spurs. A Greek Adonis. Juninho in our pockets. An overweight, mulleted, 20 fags a day nobsack second choice striker who somehow was the greatest finisher on earth if only he could get to the ball. Wenger not being able to handle us. Steve. Fvcking. Walsh. O’Neill interviews like a fvcking work of art, looking down at the floor, somehow appearing simultaneously awkward and nervous but also genuinely insane and threatening. Elliott turning prime Cruyff and turning Desailly on a sixpence. Izzet scoring the greatest overhead kick ever. Fvck. Fvck. Let’s do this. Come on people. Fvck. I’m digging out my shitty, “the sponsor is far too big and foamy” 99/00 home kit. We’re doing this. I don’t care if it’s a fvcking cvnt of a stupid idea, if it works we’ll remember it forever. What is football for if not for dreams? What’s the point of it’s not a little magic? Fvck. Fvck. This is on. Great post. They were magical times and I’m all for it. I’m going to smother myself in Fox Leisure and enjoy the ride. 1

Sabres rattled brick walls ran through! Come on!!
whoareyaaa Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 I'm just waiting for the headline Bristol City part way with Nigel Pearson.. 1

Mickyblueeyes Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 Martin walking in and Rudkin showing up and telling him he’s now director of football. Martin looks him up and “….down: go switch the kettle on lad, Director my arse.” 4

Popular Post The People's Hero Posted 5 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 5 April 2023 Amusing to see all the Pearson lovers getting upset that there was a better leicester manager before him that people remember fondly. Leave NFP to keep stinking out the Championship like he has done for 80% of his career. 4 3

Maybe if a football dinosaur had a go against 4 years of new age shite, we might land somewhere near ****ing normal after a while? Worth a ****ing shot after last night. I'm honestly past caring and just hope we don't jump on the usual merry go round. I'd take MON to try to turn us around and wouldn't hold it against him if he failed cos we're already looking pretty ****ed. At least he'd care enough to try, cos there's not other good reason for him to take this job now. Longer term, we need to try something different. Some sexy foreign manager. Poch came from somewhere, so did everyone, but the good ones came from somewhere mysterious rather than off the back of shite. If Brendan gets the Chelsea job off the back of this cluster****, you cans stop the world so i can get the **** off. Edited 5 April 2023 by gw_leics772
Tielemans63 Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 MoN is a romantic idea but he hasn't managed for 4 years and hasn't been great since Robertson retired. Keep your legacy as it is Martin. 1
Spiritwalker Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 I’m not sure who’s the craziest, the bring back NFP brigade or the bring back MON brigade. 1

Fair enough, I'd take Cooper, as long as it wasn't his idea to buy the whole world when they got promoted. Called it when they whooped us in the cup from the championship (but didn't expect them to get promoted tbf)

Wizerud Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 If he does come I’d like someone alongside him who has a connection with the current regime and players. Like Kasper.
adamkhalifa Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 I don't see why not. Bring him in, until end of the season. Better than what we have currently. We are a complete mess anyway. It needs a strong personality that can bring the best out of the current players. Add Roy to the mix. Let's sure up that defence and play some direct football. (MON is my favourite manager. Talking with bias). 1

Where is this mad dislike and dismissal coming from? Gotta be something personal as for football reasons, the bloke has done more for this club than almost any other manager. A bloke that never finished bottom half of the Championship with us if I recall? Certainly not in a full season. I know the League One season was great, but surely you didn't want it to last longer than a season? 1

Hasn’t done anything to me, I’m just able to look at a management career objectively and his level can be summarised as ‘failing in the championship’. I’m happy to work through his jobs with a summary for you ?
Vacamion Posted 5 April 2023 Posted 5 April 2023 If I ever did have a prime of my life it was when MON was managing Leicester City, so bring it all back - Britpop, Lad Culture, baggy jeans and playing "snake" on my Nokia. 1

You just always seem to be immediately negative about the man, how would you rate his work at Leicester out of 10? I've just always wondered what it is about a man that not only won 2 promotions, but put together a backroom staff that has essentially been the foundations of our rise and success in the past 10-15 years, that really seems to grate on some people. 1
