Yes, Foakes probably does take that stumping. But to the same token, does he get a run-a-ball 78 yesterday? Probably not.

 

Foakes vs Bairstow was always a trade off in that regard, we all know that. No point banging on about it every time Bairstow makes an error behind the stumps. Just have to hope this one doesn't cost us too many runs.

Many would have had Bairstow in as a specialist batsman at the expense of Crawley, though he had a good day yesterday too.

It's not as if Foakes can't bat. I just think wickets might be hard to come by this series, and that was a chance. As a bowler my mindset is to have the best keeper.
