He’s got assets, but we don’t let him show them. That combined with low confidence…

I heard someone in the crowd call him Patson Spaka recently. Obviously that’s horrendous for all sorts of reasons, but I get the sentiment (if only it wasn’t articulated in a moronic way).

When are people going to accept that he’s ****ing horrendous, it’s almost as if people want us to go to the championship now just to accommodate Daka, playing at a level more suited to him when in reality he’d struggle even more with all those experienced tough tackling bully boy defenders.

Another player that's got worse the longer he's been here. He is capable of scoring goals if he has creativity around him. I hope he will stay if/when we go down but can see him going out on loan in Europe.

Like many of you, for me yesterday was a day of acceptance for our fait. Maybe I vocalized all season that we were going down but deep inside i always believed we were too good, that we’d turn it around. It’s not going to happen and i’m now at peace with that. So my brain has switched to how we get back in this league.

It got me really thinking about our squad and who might develop into better players because we’ve dropped down. I think there’s an argument that sometimes you need to go back to go forwards.  You look at teams like brentford and fulham and see how time in the championship can be used to nurture players and get them to a decent level.

We have a few players that needs this and who knows, if we have a great promotion campaign we might actually turn some players into stars. KDH, Thomas, Souttar, Iversen, VK.. even faes could all benefit from a year learning to win. Not to mention the room to integrate youth like Alves and Braybrooke and possibly a few more.

But as the title says, it’s Daka that I think needs this the most. I think that the premiership has been a bit too much for him. But he has some raw talent that I think we can all see. His finishing ability is almost unique and I really think that if we can get him a year in the championship working on his link up play he has the potential to be that 30 goal striker. If we can get him into that form and back to what he used to do, I can really see him being our main man when we return to the prem. You see how mitrovic needed that running start to reach those levels, the same as toney and watkins who just took the confidence of the championship with them. Heck, even an average player like pukki had a decent return in a poor norwich team.

Maybe this could be an opportunity for a year of development and when we return, we might have built a new culture and ethos, the recentering that we need

Dakas biggest problem, in my opinion, was that he was joining jamie vardy fc. There was never a moment when we were planning to change our approach to suit him, it was always you must play in the way that worked for vardy. maybe it’s time to utilize him in a way that lets him shine.

Give daka a nugent to work with and you’ll see him fly

I had high hopes for this lad Rodgers ruined him not giving him the game time, his Four goals in was it Spartak were sublime it looked like we had found our goal machine Vardy replacement but Brendan ruined him just like many others in the City squad the man was Toxic i for one agree he needs a Nugent type of player to bring out his quality, under a new manager I’m sure he’ll be our missing goal machine

When we stuffed a crap newcastle team 4-0 last season is the only one i can think of. Did score a couple of goals from the bench in others

He won’t stay, he will be sold or loaned out to a European league. He still has some value over seas so we could get some reasonable money for him. Same as Soumare, I can see the pair of them being shipped off to France.

His basics are shit. Gets knocked off the ball so easy, at times struggles to control it, and I don't want to talk about some of his efforts on goal.

One of the reasons we are in this mess is having players not good enough like Daka.

4 goals against a team equvilent to a football league side will never change my mind about him.

I've got some bad news for you.

Not sure where that comes from

Yeah I choked on my cornflakes when I read that. The only think unique is that he doesn't have any (finishing ability that is)

This season was his make or break in my opinion, he's failed the test, and pretty miserably too.

His movement is not intelligent enough and even coming on as sub he's made little impact.

The comparisons to Vardy are lazy IMO.

They’re both fast (not sure I’ve seen Daka regularly beat defenders for pace like peak Vardy personally).

The biggest difference will always be the aggression that Vardy showed even when he had his doubters, Daka is soft and doesn’t have that ruthless streak that helped mask Vardy’s raw ability at a similar age.

Nugent & Vardy, if only we could replicate that partnership.

He’s supposedly quick but I haven’t seen him rinse anyone since Spartak Moscow. Last time he had a chance to dribble at someone the ball pinged off his foot after about 3 steps and he stood there wondering where it went.

Like everyone he’s regressed and I’m not sure he was even that good to begin with. Is dropping into the Championship going to suddenly make him any better? Doubt it. Can just see him getting booted up in the air.

Chalk it up to the latest in a long line of dud signings from Jon Rudkin’s Waste of Money FC.

Personally agree with the OP. If we can keep him and sort the supply out, he will score for fun. Whether he then does become a good premier league striker I don’t know but we need to get back up first!

Yeah but some said the same about Vardy, and he was older than Daka at that point. There’s still time for him, just needs to be in a settled environment. (The championship)
