Hope gone?

Anything can happen in football but this bunch of soft twats beating Liverpool is not one of them.

 

Best case scenario is Forest, Everton and Leeds losing all their remaining games and our GD not taking a battering.

 

All we would need is to win the West Ham game.

Hope doesnt not equate to realism though, as someone said in the relegation thread I dont know why I do it to myself, I'm quite a logical guy in life but when it comes to Leicester it is the complete opposite.

I have a theory that if a club from a particular area or county gets promoted, then another club from that same area or county often goes in the opposite direction. So with Burnley and Sheffield Utd definitely going up, that suggests relegation for Everton and Leeds Utd. Another of theory of mine is that it's not often that two nearby clubs both get relegated together, which suggests that it's very unlikely that both City and Forest will be relegated - it's never happened before. However, this wouldn't preclude the possibility of one of them going down.

If we were playing city, united, arsenal or Chelsea on Monday I'd say no

 

But we've actually beaten Liverpool at home a few times so there's a slim hope of a positive result

 

If we take it to the last day it'll be bedlam who knows what could happen. Can't see us getting above forest now though because they will win last game so has to be Everton we reel in

We need someone to take control of the midfield and be aggressive and actually put a tackle in. That is our soft spot which exposes our defence. Fulham exploited that with ease. 
 

I just don’t think the confidence and the belief/desire is in the players any more. If we do somehow muster a win, that might change but I just don’t see it. It’s the same issues every game. 
 

Being at home won’t help either. The pressure will be immense.  I all on the no hope bus.

I’m still clinging on to that optimistic bit of hope that we can still just about avoid the drop , I don't care if it’s by 1 goal difference but I still believe we can just about Survive.

Forest won’t beat Chelsea, defensively they are dreadful, so Chelsea will have a field day in front of goal.

 

I don’t think either Leeds or Forest will pick up points until the final game of the season, Everton will lose to city and then potentially get something against Wolves. 
 

It’s not inconceivable for us to get something against Liverpool either…. We are the definition of from the sublime to the ridiculous. 

Pep just HAS to win the CL, so Everton will be a really tough one for him on Sunday,  with the Madrid game the following Wednesday.

Man City have the squad to cope. Many people seem to think them making changes is a bad thing. Man City’s second string team is stronger than most in the league.

We need one very special night vs Liverpool and then to be slightly better than West Ham on that final day in hopefully a flatter "easier" game against a less competitive (than Liverpool) opponent but I hold no hopes for Newcastle away. The last time we were very special against a decent side? Villa away? I almost convince myself it's do-able when put like that .

 

Need to pick a DM and can't enter into a basketball match with Liverpool that's for certain. Then could we....could we.....????

The only hope I had was the manager going and the attitude of the team changing. The Dean Smith new manager bounce was more of a one-legged hop. We were good against Wolves but since then we've managed to be the only team who couldn't nail (or even beat) Leeds and Everton, before the debacle at Fulham.

 

The Fulham game was the proof to me they aren't arsed. And sadly this fanbase is too soft to force them to care.

 

Winning the league in 2016 required a near perfect storm.

 

I think getting relegated from where we were at required similar, so many different factors at once going against us and I've long feared they were. I'm even talking things like the winning run at the end of last season where we happened to come up against a load of already relegated sides that basically all gifted us wins anyway before imploding.

 

These things all added up, they further bred the delusion that things were alright, that we were fine to take our eye off the ball, but in reality we were awful last season and just completely lucky as I suspected.

 

We've got a squad without fight (which is partially a knock on effect from the contract / recruitment situation but they can still **** off for it anyway) though that doesn't excuse the basic lack of pride these players have. Remember how Pearson used to emphasise on the character of a player. We seem to have almost emphasised on getting players without character in the side. Maybe it's just a modern day football thing. We have an owner without a jot of foresight who allowed the most underperforming manager in the league nearly three quarters of this season, and a director of football who has pulled the wool over peoples eyes for years, after the manager had managed similar.

 

We're absolute no hopers. Pure luck is the only reason we aren't below even Southampton and already down.

Newcastle should be guaranteed Champions league going into our game so we could get a bit of luck there with them having an eye on their holidays. If they still need anything from the game then we will get hammered though. Coincidentally us getting anything against Liverpool would see them qualified but let's face it that would be a miracle right now.

I’m fed up with taking money of bookmakers predicting Leicester to lose each game. We’ve obliged 22 times this season including Blackburn loss in FA Cup. 

It’s small consultation for being miserable with our form all season. Like many on here I believe R is inevitable, at least I may get to a couple of preseason games in the southwest as the club will not be able to afford a tour abroad

I’ve been about as down as everyone else on here since Monday and hit rock bottom real quick. I have no idea why maybe because I feel like giving up on this team after how they’ve performed. It’s not smiffy and co although he can help himself by picking Mendy ffs!

 

It’s practically and logically mission impossible now which is why only this team can help themselves get out of the rut. I hope and pray there has been a ‘come to Jesus’ moment in the dressing room this week where the more experienced heads like Vardy stand up and bollock the crap out of e everyone. They need to snap out of feeling sorry for themselves. It’s time to play football and fight for survival. If they do that  there is a chance we could upset Liverpool despite everything we know already. we have not seen that once from this team a full guts & glory performance. It will be the most Leicester thing to do is play and win like this. If they don’t win I just want them to restore a little pride back to us fans by going down fighting.

I'm passed hoping, this year has been especially carp for me, my wife left me by text message while I was away at work, terminal illness in the family and more than likely relegation will cap off an absolutely depressing period in my life.  Although most of that stuff puts football results into a different perspective it still feels like a kick in the teeth.  I guess a huge win on the lottery might offset some of the pain and thats slightly more likely than a result against Liverpool, Newcastle or even West Ham!   Surely something must go right.  My old man has been a Leicester fan for 85 years, I hate the thought that this is the last season he might see with our glory years ending so poorly but I'm now firmly in the 'no hope' camp sadly 😒

How do you explain the presence of 7 London clubs ?

Newcastle will be a party atmosphere at their final home game 

we could hope for a repeat of us v brighton from 2014 but I doubt that Howe will allow that and the majority of their players aren’t British so won’t have spent a few days in the boozer.  Most of their squad will feel pressure to perform to avoid being ousted by a new signing.

Often, if one London club goes down, it's replaced by another. For example, in season 19/20 Watford down & Fulham up, in 20/21 Fulham down & Brentford up, in 21/22 Watford down & Fulham up. (As Watford is on the Underground, I regard it as a London club.)
