I genuinely hope Everton and Leeds win this weekend to help take Forest with us. We haven't got a prayer and quite frankly I'm that disgusted at the owner, board and players that I want to see them suffer - because the reality is if we survive next season we'll just have the same bastards pioneering the next calamity and inevitable relegation.

I said in another thread but in order for this to happen two out of these three things need to happen in combination with us losing to both Newcastle and Liverpool:

 

1. Forest get a point from either either Chelsea away or Arsenal at home. Seems a bit of a stretch.

 

2. Everton get two points from Man City at home and Wolves away. Probably not unlikely, I think Everton are the "most" safe of the four clubs.

 

3. Leeds get four points from Newcastle at home and West Ham away. I'd be amazed it that happens.

 

In all likelihood, even if we lose both of our next two games it's probably going to go down to the final day, even if that leaves us needing miracles on the day.

 

I think there's a reasonably believable chance that the following happens:

 

Forest - lose both of their next games and then lose to Crystal Palace away on the final day.

Everton - pick up a couple of points to be safe before the final game and then comfortably beat Bournemouth on the final day to finish 16th.

Leeds - lose to Newcastle, maybe take points from West Ham, probably lose to Tottenham.

Leicester - lose to Newcastle and Liverpool, beat West Ham - stay up.

 

Do I think that's the MOST likely of the various scenarios? No, neither do the bookies or the super-computers. But it's definitely very possible and I wouldn't bet a substantial amount of money against it either. Forest did well against a seriously misfiring Brighton to give us all a heart attack but they've done nothing to suggest they'll definitely take points from one of Chelsea or Arsenal and we don't really know what a "Big Sam" Leeds is going to look like yet. They could also believably take no more points.

Everybody probably remembers the energetic 3-1 win v Liverpool at home in 2017 one game after Ranieri was sacked and when Shakey was very much the precursor at the time of Ole at Man. I'd be extremely concerned if it was at Forest. But Forest have a shocking away record and an even worse defence than ours. It's absolutely not a sure thing that they'll lose, I think they're the 'wildcard' of the four in the mix because they do look a bit mad and unpredictable at the moment.

 

But Chelsea will still be favourites. It depends what approach Forest take, I guess. If they think they need a win and play like it then they could get stuffed. If they absolutely park the bus then Chelsea's attacking problems could be an issue.

Everton beat Wolves and Forest get the point they need at Chelsea. We get beat on Monday against Liverpool side desperate for top 4 and then we go to the St James Park lions den to get relegated.

Yeah of course that's absolutely possible. I'm not saying otherwise. But I don't think those scenarios are any more likely than Leeds and Forest both losing their next two games along with us.

Everton are likely to lose to Man City, Leeds are likely to lose to Newcastle and Forest are likely to lose to both Chelsea and Man City. 
 

Out of all of the top clubs, Liverpool aren’t a bad team to have to play, they give up chances and on their day have a stinker in them. 
 

We’ve always had one big result in us, and it could well be on Monday. 
 

It is easy to sit there and say it won’t happen, but no matter how poor we have been this season, it is still foolish to write us off. 
 

The battle has been swinging every weekend, no one has gained an advantage, and both Forest and Leeds are unlikely to still, and even Everton are unlikely to as well considering they’ve got to play Man City next……

 

If we could shithouse a win against Liverpool, we will likely be out of the bottom three, and it all flips again. 
 

All that matters is we gain some kind of advantage before West Ham, and that’s what Smith will be focusing on, our goal difference is an extra point. There’s something to cling onto and that’s all you need in football.

It's all just too incredibly complex for most of us to understand, and that's ok, the board have the big jobs paying the big bucks for good reason.   

 

It seems to me to be something like a macro attempt at manifestation of the most suitable environment for us to thrive as a occasional premier league winning ECL hanger on type club.
