Still think there's a difference between caring and giving your all. Mind you, people are too quick to jump on the very easy accusation that they don't care.

They DID seem to care in the four games under Smith before Fulham. Smith's tactics were questionable at times and it was far from perfect, but to me they looked highly motivated in those games.

Something changed at Fulham. They looked careless, as if they just thought they needed to show up to win. Smith himself hinted afterwards that they were too complacent, as did Maddison. That doesn't make sense though - how could they be complacent when we're in the position we're in? Did Smith spend all week trying to build their confidence by telling them Fulham were there for the taking but forgot to mention they'd need to scrap for it?

Whatever, they should be under no illusions now about the task they face.

from the out side looking in, none of them except Vardy look like theyd run through a brick wall,

all we ask for is some fight and probably some angry(within reason) on the pitch from them

No-one goes out there wanting to lose a game of football, I just think they have zero confidence at the minute - and the second the going gets tough, they fall apart.

I don't believe they're out there going 'ah **** this, who cares' but as soon as a goal goes in you can see their collective heads just drop.

Being the unfittest team in the league is a consequence of them not caring.

Having a do or die game against Fulham (who had nothing to play for) and not being first in the challenge (as per Maddison) is another example of not caring or not caring enough.

Unfortunately the list goes on.

I appreciate the title but the evidence and peoples eyes tell us different

I look forward to the moronic “they don’t care”

brigade many of which boo’s the players on Monday followed by chants of your not fit to wear the shirt, that then left after the fourth goal went in.

...a toxic KP would have created the change which most on here could see, that this manager (Rodgers) and his backroom staff should be removed!!!

We could  turn this around and speculate that the supporters at the KP did not care enough to make their voices heard, to the people that could, and would likely to be finacially affected by their discontent.

A combination of players knowig that they are leaving, and performances throughout the season would perhaps subconsciously prevent players from digging in, it is a human trait,  the new managerial team had little time to work in, and is certainly not viewed as the best option outthere, but they were available at short notice.

The players are given instruction to go and carry them out, it has been clear that most did not believe in what was been asked of them, or were confused with what was being asked.

In this situation, with three games to go, it will be only the players pride in their and professionality, which will get us through.

Indeed, even though Vardy has nothing left to prove any longer he is still most likely to be the most caring player left in that squad (like Kasper was before his mysterious close season departure), KDH too, Soyuncu and Nacho also I would say. Someone like Kristiansen was full of fire when we first signed him and when he first played in the FA Cup ties (albeit against lowly opposition from League Two twice in a month of course) but I think his confidence has taken a dip of late as his more "out of his depth" performances of late reflect this (ie at Fulham) - likewise KDH who was one of the best players out there for the first half of this wretched season but who I think got an injury and hasn't quite been the same combative midfielder since then.

Also I do still sometimes wonder if this malaise from the fans (ever having since won the league seven short years ago of course), has continued to seriously raise expectation levels to the extent where anything other than being in the Premier League is now deemed as being unacceptable or a failure and wiith it the ridiculing on here of people who bring a bit of reality and perspective into play by saying "we were in League One 14 years ago", etc. - while things like winning the FA Cup, as finally happened two years ago of course, were becoming increasingly more expected - even though we nearly suffered relegation the season after winning the league of course after we were sussed out a bit and effortlessly lost Kante to Chelsea of course, before controversially (but necessarily....) sacking Ranieri. I wonder would Top have done that in the way Vichai did, had Vichai not been about then? To me I am happy for Leicester to still be in the Premier League and anything else beyond that is (and always has been) a bonus to me really! Sadly I don't think this season is going to end well now but I'd love to be....wrong!

I’m not convinced that they don’t care, I think they see how the club is being run and and that there seems to be an acceptance of low or lax standards in so many areas of the football club so their own performance level drops off.

I’m sure we have all worked for companies or in offices where the management appear clueless or not enthused and that just rubs off on everyone else consciously or subconsciously.

Unfortunately for us we are witnessing it all in front of us and this has been coming for at least 18 months. In 3 games time I guess we’ll know how costly this has been.

Whilst they won't want relegation on their CV and no players goes out there not to win or to purposely play badly, they're more concerned about not getting injured which would hinder any potential moves, which impacts on 'getting stuck in', making challenges, pressing, chasing down the opposition.

There is caring and caring.

You can work for a company and be a bit checked out because of lots of things that have happened, you can still care about things. But perhap without realsiing you're not giving it everything.

Or you can work somewhere, where everything is great, you're 100% on board and can subconsciously give it that little bit extra.

I doubt many of them walk into work and don't care about all the people around them at the club, but It only takes a couple of percent being off your game at this level to turn 3 points to 0.

I think this is spot on.

It's very easy and popular to say modern footballers don't care. And you can bet they don't care in the way that we do, but there are levels to it.

You don't get to the position they're all in if you don't care at all about what you're doing.

I shall say this much:

I was there at Filbert Street when we were relegated by Manchester United beating us 1-0. When it became apparent that we were for the plunge the entire stadium stood up and, for what felt like an eternity, gave them a standing round of ‘Stand up if you love Leicester’.

This was because, in spite of the poor management of Taylor, those players had done their best. We hadn’t got enough to stay in the league and they were being relegated because of it. This was a team with an aging Matt Elliot in defence, Brian Deane and Paul Dickov up front and a midfield that had just about past its prime. They had tried but a combination of poor signings and aging players had cost us. It wasn’t a lack of effort.

When we get relegated this season there’ll be no such support. This is a team of current England internationals, 4 of Belgium’s golden generation to draw on, hundreds of millions of pounds worth of talent. Yes there has been som mis-management but this team has not, in any way, met its potential. The two are different.

...yes, going out of the Premier league is distasteful, annoying, but going out with a whimper is unacceptable!!!

Numerous posters have posted "..we were on League 1, 14 years ago", as if to say be grateful for what you have. Well you cannot just stand there and pat yourself on the back, all you are encouraging is to stand still.

There is a difference between not caring and "deliberately playing bad" and I've not saw anyone accuse them of the latter. A player that cares commits to 50/50 challenges. They run themselves into the ground. Have you saw that? I've not.

Whether they are doing it deliberately or not, I don't know but having injury on their mind when hoping to get a move at the end of the season is hardly inconceivable.
