No way. Stay off the pitch.

Show the players how fuming we've been with their lack of effort and desire all season.

Just be careful with what you say here people as we know the club do read things on here.

Would be tragic to do so... they're just crap now, Sheff Wed v the posh was valid, they should be for very special occasions not winning a meh game to get into a final, if we were rock bottom and won 9 in a row to stay up last day then maybeee

The fact there's a pre arranged discussion about a pitch invasion sums up the state of them lately.

They're meant to be in the moment and unorganised, not for a shitty twitter clip.

question should be if we go down are we in the dressing room and directors' box

Yeah, what a moment that would be, listening on the wireless or refreshing your phone to see if another team has secured our premier league status. I couldn’t imagine a wetter way to respond.

Bet the same single-digit IQ supporters who have a pop at young fans for wanting Rodgers out and sing the national anthem to Liverpool's away section are absolutely bang up for this.

I would simply stroll towards the centre circle, pull my pants down and curl out a turd.

People would applaud and I would get an average mark of 9.8 in the match ratings topic.

James Maddison would try to shake my hand. I would simply ignore him.

It's who I am.

It's what I do.

Depends on the context , if we scored a 97th ( i know I know ) minute winner which kept us up that’s where you get the spontaneous pitch invasion.

As rubbish as the season has been, it’ll all be about the here and now on the day if we stay up. Why we were in such a position can wait for the following day. Unfortunately my own hunch is that Everton will win. Trying to think what would be better for my health , Everton being 3-0 up after 20 minutes or Everton scoring an injury time winner.

If we stay up I can't see anything to celebrate.

If nothing changes we'll only be putting off the inevitable for next season.

I might allow myself a small flicker of joy. Maybe a Tim Henman style small fist pump. Then there will be a sensation of relief. Then I will be overwhelmed by dread, after realising that next season in shaping up to be even worse.

Playing devil's advocate here as I think it's ridiculous to celebrate survival in our situation. But:

If we had consolidated all of our wins into the final 9 games and survived on the final day, would that be more cause for celebration? If so, why? Averaged over a season we'd have been equally inept.

I know what you mean given its the same outcome, but i'd say so.

I suppose if we were to win the last 9 it would have meant an abysmal record breakingly bad start where we were completely down an out and we'd be a lost cause. Then there would have been a monumental upturn where the side would have been playing with quality/desire/fight and built a real momentum out of no where (an even greater escape than our great escape!)

Whereas this season has been a low trudge to relegation with 1 in every 5/6 games putting in a bit of a performance sort of meandering no where and i don't think we've seen much fight or quality all season. It's kind of felt all year a couple of wins would have really dragged us out of it yet its a bit like we've not been too arsed to do so.

A bit like my point celebrating reaching a play off final and storming on the pitch... ridiculous for the most part, however, Sheff Wed record breaking comeback taking it to extra time in injury time, then going to penalties to win feels reasonable cause!

Or Deeney Day™

My nightmare is becoming a 40 point target side, celebrating mediocrity each season, like Crystal Palace. I'd rather go down and have something meaningful to possibly cheer for again.

OK compromise for those against it, invade the pitch and beat the shit out of the crap players that put us in this position in the first place. Theyre all leaving anyway right...

I’m on the pitch either way. Celebrating an unlikely survival or protesting at the shambolic running of our club for the past 2 years. I’d like to see some of them rent a stewards try and stop me too.
