Who will be playing Defence for us next season ? Until we know that it's difficult to. know how good/ bad we will be.

The less we know now, the more optimistic I feel!

At least until the first game when we ultimately just line up with Faes and Vesty! :o

I'm fairly optimistic as well ..  Hopefully we can beg, steal or borrow some up & coming players to build the team around.

Don’t get the fuss or what people are moaning about.

Us, Ipswich and any club in the play offs offer a hell of a lot more to the PL than Burnley, Luton and Sheff utd.

If our points deduction isn’t more than 5, I can see Forest and Everton both going down next season, possibly along with whoever wins the playoffs if it isn’t Leeds.

Everton really are in the mire.

These guys also own some of Saville so hopefully that puts Enzo off any interest they show

Starting to sound like the could go bankrupt. Who can afford to take them on. Pay 500m for the ground. Running costs. Pay back 777 for all its loans and take on the debts.

You got to be looking at £1b then money to build the squad.

Might be just two relegation spots come nxt may.

Based on the deductions for Forest and Everton ours should not be anymore than what Forest currently have and possibly the same as what theirs may get reduced to after appeal.

I’d like to think the same, but that’s very logical, and that serves no place here 😂

Be good to see the programme when this is released:

A referee will wear a video camera for the first time in a Premier League game during Monday evening's match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

Jarred Gillett will use a head-mounted device called a 'RefCam', although the footage will not be broadcast live.

The video will be used in a one-off programme providing insight into officiating in the Premier League.

In February, Bundesliga referee Daniel Schlager wore a camera and microphone during a 2-2 draw between Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg.

That footage was also used for a programme called 'Referees Mic'd up - Bundesliga'.

Last year, Premier League referee Rob Jones wore a camera for a 2023 Summer Series match between Chelsea and Brighton in Philadelphia.

The use of bodycams was also trialled by the Football Association in adult grassroots football last year in an effort to reduce the amount of abuse officials at that level suffered.

Brentford will be in trouble, they’re set to lose Toney, and I can’t see who they get to replace his goals.

Everton won’t be able to spend much, unless they sell big, and their biggest assets are in defence, so I can see them having a really difficult season.

Forest likewise, they will be hamstrung too and will likely have to sell to buy.

Wolves I think will be down there too, and I wonder if Fulham are due their struggle, every other season they tend to stack it.

Bournemouth are another team I can see struggling too, they seem to fade away after a few seasons themselves.

There’s normally a surprise struggler too, and Brighton depending on what happens with their manager and playing staff could have a poor season themselves.

Then that leaves the three newbies. Ipswich will likely catch everyone by surprise initially, but then potentially fade as they won’t be able to sustain it at this level.

Us, depends what we do in the summer. A few shrewd signings should see us right. I don’t think the deduction of any will be massive, and I think Enzo’s style will be better suited to the premier league. I’m optimistic, I think we will have a steady season.

Im not convinced any of the teams on the playoffs will do any better either.

I think Brentford will be bad too 36 points this year, any other year that puts you in the mixer. If Toney leaves, he's way off form at present they are in trouble. I can also see Brighton having a bad year and maybe West Ham if moyes leaves.

Losing Toney would obviously not be ideal for Brentford, but they're still the joint highest goalscorers in the bottom half with Toney having barely played a part this season. Mbeumo and Wissa are dangerous players and their recruitment is generally solid.

They played better in the 3 games he didn't play in recently

Aston Villa 3 - 3 Brentford

Brentford 2 - 0 Sheff Utd

Luton 1 - 5 Brentford

then since he came back in despite those results they are struggling to score again.

You tend to find teams who do lose a “key figure” try to replace them, anyway, even if they don’t need them. But I do feel like they will struggle next season. Perhaps not go down but they will struggle.

Brentford will probably overpay for someone like Nacho and thoroughly regret it. I think they are down next season. Normally i like an underdog, but i hate watching Brentford play.

Agree about Everton. There are significant ownership issues as well. Forest will be in the bottom section too. Wolves have been hopeless lately and the wheels have fallen off with O'Neil. They are there for the taking.

Lots of Rumours about Solanke going. We saw what Bournemouth look like without him (utter rubbish).  Another club that are one bad deal away from bottom 4.

Brighton will sort themselves out. I think they likely need to move on from DZ but you would think the ownership will be on top of poor 2nd half of the season.

Ipswich are interesting. The shipped 57 goals in the Championship so unless there is significant recruitment defensively they are going to be absolute cannon fodder for a lot of the PL teams. There are a few loans in there they are likely to lose, so they are going to have to go on a spending spree.

With us, no matter what we will spend significant spells in the bottom 3-6. I said it before that my biggest fear are the fans that think we are going to slot straight back into the top 8, and will turn on Enzo fast. Even the 'ok' teams lose a lot of games in the PL (Spurs just lost 4 on the bounce, West Ham have won 1 in 8, Brighton have won 2 in 10). We are going to have to hold our nerve and carve out a way of getting through next season but the expectations are going to have to be very different to anything we have experiences in recent years.

And there's bound to be plenty of that with it being Jared Gillett reffing.
