Top Statement

...the stated review has not as yet been carried out, we will then put plans in place, depending on the conclusion of the review!!!

The tragic thing is that review is being done by Rudkin and Whelan!  Nothing will be learnt. It needs to be an independent review and done quickly! We don't have weeks to wait

I've just reread it and it speaks volumes for what is missing!

The staff are not mentioned at all.

We still have just finished a season, shouldn't the staff be thanked for all their hard work (non-playing).

Shouldn't he at least be trying to say the players gave it their all

Shouldn't he be saying things like although Smith came in at a tough time I appreciate his efforts

It is just a list of achievements, which although is great does not prepare us for the future

He also didn't need to make the statement about negative comments... all players, public figures get them, he should not be receiving offensive messages, but concentrate on the positive support the club does get.

Now we wait to see when the preparations for next season begin to see if we have actually learned any lessons

This is a very disappointing statement. It sounds like a politician/prime minister statement. I know it's difficult for Top but I can't really understand why he's feeding the journos with exactly what they want. He doesn't need to bring up publicly the negative reaction he received. What's the point? If we're a family as a club we need to act as a family.

That said, I want to see actions taken this week. Next week is too late.

Yes you are right. Purely focused on him

Yes he’s made some poor decisions and people are entitled to wanting him to sell etc but to abuse him just isn’t right imo

Agreed. Completely disrespectful and inappropriate. We are all hurting but sending personal abusive and offensive messages to Top is disgraceful and mindless. We have been on a roller coaster and the memories we have had with him, his Dad and KP were unimaginable before they came in. Yes, things need to be changed with Rudkin out, a new manager within the next week or max 2 ( I would go Pearson who Bristol City fans think has done a fantastic job of sorting out their finances but only has a year left on his contract, and try and get Steve Walsh back as DOF if possible from the US, with Shakespeare staying as assistant) surrounded by good people like them who will tell him the truth we will go back up but the work needs to start right away.

Who's being thrown under the bus then?

Sounds like he’s used the statement to complain about some negative comments made towards him. Doesn’t relay positivity at all.

That’s it for me. It’s a complete PR statement which spends more time highlighting the successful periods over the errors

He can throw out all the positives he likes about our history under his regime, but the following paragraph is telling.

This past season has been the most difficult for all of us to endure, ultimately resulting in relegation from the Premier League. We gave everything to turn it around yesterday and the atmosphere in the stadium after we’d gone in front and looked on course for survival was absolutely incredible. But relegation is a consequence of 38 games and over that period, we haven’t been good enough. Over the coming days and weeks, we need to reflect on the processes and decisions that have brought us to this point. What we learn from this experience must convert into action that makes us stronger and prevents this happening to us again in the future.

“But relegation is a consequence of 38 games and over that period, we haven’t been good enough”.

Not being good enough doesn’t just stem from the playing side of things, not being good enough has also stemmed from board level.

This process of reflection must end with the sacking of Rudkin.

That’s the action that will potentially make us stronger and prevents this from happening again.

Top is operating and will continue to operate on credit well deserved for bringing the best years this club has ever seen in its history.

Now it's time to get out the P45s, roll his sleeves up and get stuck in to get back as champions in year 1

We go again

Don't **** it up again....please

Very weak this is. The line about the coming days and weeks in particular just continues with this awful lack of urgency that stinks the place up. About as much intensity in this statement than in this seasons Rodgers ball. That board needs to be in full crisis management mode right now, working as long into nights as needed to get decisions made. Don’t get a single ounce of hope this is the case from this. More that he’s preparing the ground for some real pain to come.

Despicable behaviour from a few that have tiny minds and can't remember what this club has achieved over the last 7 years. Without Top and his father Leicester would be no where.

Worked on you then
