mozartfox Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 1. Rodgers (& Congerton - although he did very well in his position as Pension Advisor at Southampton) 2. Rudkin 3. The CFO (I would not trust him with my piggy-bank) 4. The stale coaching staff that are unfortunately past their sell-by date. 5. Some of the Players. 6. And lastly Top for trusting those Board Members who have let him, his entire family and the Fans down terribly.
Popular Post CountesthorpeFox1 Posted 31 May 2023 Popular Post Posted 31 May 2023 I’ve thought long and hard about this and it’s Rodgers. Yes, the board didn’t act when it was quite evident he should have gone ages ago, yes Rudkin has obviously made a string of mistakes along the way but it’s Rodgers for me. He came out in August and belittled his current crop of players because he threw his toys out the prank about not having money to spend in the summer (Let’s not forget Parker got sacked early doors for doing exactly this) This squad was nowhere near one of the worst 3 in the league on terms of quality. His job as a manager in many senses was no different to an office managers job, you work within your budget and with what you’ve got until the business can afford to make necessary changes and these are discussions you have e behind closed doors. He demotivated players and hung them out to dry, knocking every bit of confidence out of them changing them to a team that ultimately got relegated. mistakes from above are forgivable and the board will learn from them. What that man did was protect his own reputation whilst not getting on with his current role knowing full well it was coming to an end, at the expense of a footballs clubs future in my opinion. I’m not denying initially he brought good times to the club but for me he will go down in my eyes as my most disliked manager I’ve ever witnessed for the above reasons. 10

And the irony of the above is, if he had just got on with his job and has us lingering around mid table with no spending in the summer everybody would have been saying what a great job he had done and would have probably ended up with the Chelsea gig over Potter.
Durnerz Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Top for letting Rodgers run the team into the ground leading us to the drop. Gross negligence of the highest order. Rodgers for throwing the towel in but still happy to throw away games and pick up a wage in the process. The players as many are proven more than good enough to play well enough to comfortably survive but have given the bare minimum or below for too long. 1
FoxTimmy2 Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Rodgers, for giving Ward 26 games and not playing Soyuncu.

I think Top’s part is naivety and faith rather than gross negligence. I think he’s getting an unfair drumming from fans. Since KP have taken over they’ve been brilliant on the whole. I don’t think this happens with Vichai still around but I’m sure in his younger years he made some terrible business decisions that he learnt from and that’s why it wouldn’t have happened with him around 5
Tom12345 Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Rodgers. But needless to say, Top was too naive to be conned by Rodgers with his snake oil talk. And he ought to be much better advised by Rudkin.

Supergray22 Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 I’m most annoyed upset for having too high expectations and for letting myself get so upset sometimes. Been a fan since I was about four or five and the club have given me so many memories since then. This is just one of them and all part of the journey. 1
ren Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 1. The board / Rudkin 2. Rodgers 3. Clappers and goal music
KrefelderFox666 Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 (edited) I wanted a different manager before the season even started, so as much as I wanted Rodgers out, the first blame for me lies with the board. I would not have let Rodgers take charge of the team in a season where finances were tight. Dyche was available and has a proven record of getting the most out of a team with little investment. Rudkin for the contract mess, no doubt. Technically, this could come first as it has been going on for a while. Rodgers for being so arrogant and not giving a sh1t other than to save face and get his payday. Top also needs to take blame for overseeing everything and not communicating one bit while watching everything unravel until it was too late. Pure negligence. And his token statement is worth sweet fa unless he pulls his finger out over the summer and sorts the mess. So I will judge on that in about 12 months time. The fans I will put at the end but the negligence of the majority of the fanbase, and still now, is baffling. It seems that challenging anything the club do is a big no no and will be frowned upon. Well, you are part of the reason the club has failed unfortunately and it will continue to do so if this doesn't change. Forgot the players...they also have to take some of the blame but not as much as Top/Rudkin/Board/Rodgers. Edited 31 May 2023 by KrefelderFox666 1
demon_dog Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 First and foremost Rodgers must have 60 percent of the blame, next must be Rudkin as DOF it's up to him to press Top to sack Rodgers. 30 percent of the blame to him. The players must take 7.5 percent blame for doing to little to late Finally Top 2.5 percent at fault for not acting sooner.

Claudio Fannieri Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 1. Rodgers - by downing tools he sabotaged our season and 10 years work down the pan. Make no mistake the team were unfit and unprepared both at the start of the season and again after World Cup. He could have made his point and vented his frustration but doing it whilst still winning matches and keeping us in and around mid-table, but he didn’t instead he spat out his dummy and set out to prove his points and his agenda by having us hopelessly under-performing. 2. Whelan and Rudkin as Top’s key advisors, surely one or both should have been telling Top to pull the plug early on before the damage was terminal. Decision making has been woefully poor since the FA Cup win. 3. Top needed to show decisive leasdership, unfortunately he didn’t and the dithering with Rodgers left us with too much to do and too little time to achieve it. 4. the players, zero leadership on the pitch, a squad full of entitled individuals who believed they are too good to be relegated. The complacency and arrogance within the squad that being premier league was an absolute given is criminal. Far too many living off previous success . 2
Daggers Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 I had a long list - but I’ve sacked it all off since reading the Foxes Trust statement. They’re the only ones I’m blaming now. 1
lcfc278 Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Has to come down to Top and Rudkin. Top is the one who needs to lead and when he's not in the county Rudkin is in charge of everything on the football side, he's got to go. I watched the West Ham game and every time the camera panned to the 2 of them, Rudkin did not look like a guy that's in charge of anything, if anything he was almost like a 'Smithers to Mr. Burns' kind of character for Top.
Pliskin Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 (edited) No one person is to blame. Collectively the board as a whole are to blame and that includes Rodgers. There’s a lot of theories around where it all went wrong, but for me, when going through it with a fine tooth comb giving Rodgers more creative licence was the first mistake along with his extended contract. The board should have looked and his and Congertons track record to see their input at other clubs has been a disaster. The second mistake was clearly a conversation was had with Rodgers about his input in transfers, and this is where I think the relationship broke down. Brendans mistake was to publicly out the club, because this is where is went from a bad situation to a disastrous one. He tried to force the hand of the club, essentially he bit, and that was never ever going to end well. When he didn’t get what he wanted rather than knuckle down and prove to the world he is actually a great coach, he ****ed everything off and gave up. This translated to the players and a negative rot set in throughout the club. The fatal mistake was not acting sooner to remove Brendan, as soon as he outed the club he should have been sacked…. A new manager at that stage would have been able to work with the group, and get the best out of them again until some funds could be generated. And the final mistake was dishing out these hideous contracts. I think this has been compounded by the drop off in form, which makes the situation seem a lot worse, but still it was a ridiculous error that’s left us with £100 of millions of assets walking away for free. CosbehFox Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Rudkin. He allowed Rodgers to move away from our model. He allowed Rodgers to put in his own fitness coach despite us having a sports science / conditioning team considered one of the best. He allowed Rodgers to recommend Congerton (that we had use a headhunting firm to get Glover doesn't speak well for his football knowledge). He allowed the likes of Balsom, Sormaz, Murphy, Rennie etc to leave. He conceded control of the things which worked really, really well at the club. Away from the football, Whelan ain't far behind so her continued hiring of middle managers who don't know football, have lovely looking CV, but wear a nice suit. 2
Stopharage Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 Roberto Martinez. God only knows what he did to Faes in Qatar. Went away as the accomplished CB we’d been crying out for. Came back determined to beat Frank Sinclair’s own goal haul. In one match. 1 1
Spudulike Posted 31 May 2023 Posted 31 May 2023 The frustration with the lack of communication from the club has magnified the situation. So much talk and speculation about who's to blame when we know very little about what's actually going on. Looking from the outside, as that is all we can do as fans, blame can be apportioned to any or all of those running and playing for the club. Hoping that something might be revealed by some of the players that are leaving. Vardy obviously wants to say something but can't. I personally blame the incumbent that didn't do enough to keep Kasper at the club for another season at least.
