Who are you most annoyed at regarding relegation?

Rodgers is mostly (but not totally) to blame. 

 

The way he came out to the media was shocking and would have dented all confidence that the team had in themselves. We get that he was promised a transfer kitty for a much needed squad refresh but talk about throwing your toys out of the pram. 

 

But then comes the board and Top. Why was Rodgers given the message that he had funds available? Then why did they first not react when he basically said he needed funds and the squad weren't good enough and then consistently failed to deliver results. We lost seven of our first eight games then five out of six after Spurs at home.

 

Those kind of runs are shambolic even if we had Pep in charge.

Not a good enough man-manager to stay impactful to his players.

 

Wanted everybody to stay so we maxed out our wages quota and couldn't make signings when we really needed to.

 

Signed players that didn't follow the Leicester model.

 

Undermined and threw his players under the bus, with no acknowledgement that things may be his fault and didn't ever really attempt to protect his players in any way.

 

Can't coach a defence to save his life, when for several seasons we consistently outperformed our xG and we knew that was going to level out at some point.

 

He's our second-best coach of all time in terms of what he's achieved and I'll be forever grateful for those top 5 finishes, our first ever FA Cup and some scintillating football along the way.

 

But, for me, the road to relegation began with his decisions and has come to pass because of many others he made since. It's not entirely his fault. The players, the board and the ownership also need to take responsibility. But Rodgers is who I blame the most.

1. Top. We will suffer for as long as he takes up a decision making role. Number 1 problem at our club. 
 

2. Rodgers was a classless idiot and should’ve been sacked months previously. He is worst that Taylor. Taylor tried but was shit. This **** actually stopped and used us to prove a point. His treatment of staff previously is also disgusting. How 1 above calls himself a good man and wants to order a bouncy castle and shit to show it but allows a work culture like that is embarrassing. 
 

3 The players are cowards. They’ve been cowards previously and mentality wise are significantly lacking. The moment it got into a race as much as I didn’t want them to, I was a fool not to expect them to just collapse like they did. Performance of the season v West Ham. Has anyone watched the bastard’s and their first goal v West Ham again ? Absolutely outstanding - arseholes. That wasn’t a team about to get relegated. 
 

4. Rudkin - WTF is he doing here. See point 1 above. 
 

I get annoyed at the happy clapping, look on the bright side, Top shits sunshine,  cheaper tickets, love the championship type fans but they have no blame. They’re our village idiots but no way at all to blame. 
 

I’ve felt relegation before many times as a fan. Sad. I can remember calling Nev Foulger on Radio Leicester telling him Micky Adams was the man and how we need to keep him after his full season in PL. Going down to League Onr didn’t have this impact. I’ve never felt like this before. Actual anger at the club. I hate it at the moment. Correction: I hate the people associated with it at the moment. The sooner things change the better.

Rudkin as DoFfor enabling Rodgers to get his miserable tentacles so far into every part of the club. Will take years for the academy to unravel itself from the ‘patience zone’ square passing nonsense Rodgers insisted on. Also for horrendous decision making on contracts both renewing some and not cashing in on others which has probably cost us around a net £100m

 

Rodgers for his obstinate ego fuelled attitude. He brings 4 or 5 subs on v Brentford we quite possibly don’t let that 2 goal lead slip. 2 points more in the bank. 
 

Players who didn’t believe they would take us down

 

Think Top has been badly let down by many many people. Just hope he’s got the resilience to bomb them out.

It really depends whether Brendan had asked whether a rebuild was possible when he said we needed one and whether he'd been told if one was possible or not. But probably Brendan.

The stuff coming out about the scouts and in particular Rennie  should’ve raised alarm bells.

 

Rennie tells Rodgers and O’driscoll your training methods are causing injuries.

 

Leicester sack Rennie and “revamp” the department. 
 

Rennie’s replacement quits a year later. 
 

Leicester go through a 3 year injury crisis. 
 

If questions were not asked on the replacement quitting, what the **** is the point.

Rodgers and Rodgersball. Regardless of anything the inability to defend a setpiece or infact defend full stop for 2 years is absolutely basic, cloggers can do it. 

 

The mentality instilled was pathetic. I think these players actually bought into the Rodgers patter that they wernt good enough, started to believe it.

 

They may not have been good enough to compete with the top 6 but the were NEVER relegation fodder.

 

The problem was the club leadership were out of touch with what was happening. Realistically if they didn't want to rebuild they should have Mutually agreed to part ways in the Summer. 

 

Regardless of the boards failings this squad is better than so.e still in the Premier League bottom half, pure and simple.

Brendan Rodgers. If he was an elite manager he would have been able to get the current squad performing to a consistent level. Instead he talked the squad down consistently since the Forest cup defeat. He became too stale and wouldn’t admit it to himself because of his ego and believed his own hype!

 

Lee Congerton. A complete Fraud of an appointment. Unforgivable recruitment - paying over the odds for ordinary players.  Got lucky with Fofana but also responsible for Bertrand, Vestergaard, Perez, Praet, Soumare and Daka. He’s the sort of bloke who would happily sell his mates down the river with a Ponzi scheme!

Top - Allowing Rodgers do and say what he likes while he had to suffer week in week out. And then giving him what we wants right at the end. Appaling leadership. Still a great Statement eh

 

Rodgers. - A disgrace but we knew what he was like at the end of last season. And yet those above him couldn't grasp it.

 

Players - Fitness and desire was shocking for large parts but they had no guidance from the top so lesser issue than the above overall.

 

Brighton and Bournemouth - They couldn't spoil our ambitions fast enough but when we needed favours they went missing.

The lack of urgency or action.. like a universal apathy that infected the club from Top to bottom. From outside it appears there is a Fairytale curse of a malaise that has come to rest on the club.

 

If I was captain of a sinking ship, it'd be "all hands on deck!", not: "oh let's have another platter of fish fingers and see how things turn out next week".. Unbelievably negligent.

The culture that set in that allowed tools to be downed so blatantly, and for it to go on and on unchallenged. As an example, Tielemans going on his jolly strolls around midfield and not putting tackles in. How many games did that happen? Probably not in the last two games of the season, but plenty before that.
