I just can’t imagine a manager being brave enough to bench him in the championship.

It’s a fair point but not sure I agree, I’ve not seen much noise about him being benched so much this season so I think it wouldn’t be an issue.

If you look at when we were promoted last, we got goals from many rotation players and he surely scores a minimum of 10 in that league being in and around the starting 11.

I hope JV never plays in the Championship.

a GOAT doesn't deserve to play in the Second Division.

I'm pretty sure JV will continue to play in the PL...........:vardy:

We should just play him for the home games let the old boy have some rest. It’s long long season in the championship

Vardy in the championship, Yes pls.. 20 goals with Nacho getting 20 as well.

Think people are in for a rude awakening if they think we're suddenly going to romp through the Championship next season. This is a team that has been pretty pants for 2 years. Vardy will be 37 during next season. Daka will not suddenly become a world beater. Nacho is very unlikely to be here.

There isn't a huge gulf in quality between the bottom 5 in the PL and the top half of the Championship.

Maybe vardy could end up in the Saudi league too?

just a thought.

If he wants one last fat pay check that's his best bet.

Definitely stay. We’re talking one player - arguably the legend of the club, having one more season to try to fire us back to the Prem. I can’t be happy with it finishing like this. One more season and a proper goodbye at the end of it. Nothing else would feel right and I see nothing to suggest he couldn’t do it.

As for Daka, I simply don’t care. The guy’s ultimately replaceable, particularly if we keep hold of Iheanacho. Nothing particular against him, but I’d just sell and move on if we get the chance.

You are in for a wide awakening when he leaves. He is the highest paid player on the roster, and he wont need  a paycut since the American leagues will most likely match it. As much of a club legend he is, hes near the end of his career and will look to maximise his amount.. You really think he will play for less at this stage?  doubt it.

This is the perfect example of why emotions shouldn't come into decision making :D

Actually there is a case for emotion, not so much from the boardroom point of view but in understanding what can bring fans in, what can actually excite people. You cut the soul out of any organisation, football club included, and it translates into sales and performances. You want to keep your club profile as high as possible, you keep its highest profile asset. As long as he can perform on the pitch of course, but we’re not talking about a new four-year contract here.

I think, maybe after that shambles of a season he OWES the fans to see out his contract, and retire the Championship all time season top goalscorer (43 goals) and Champion.

Just this ONE season  though

Well apparently Daka and Itchy are off. We need all three in my opinion. However the ludicrous management of this club at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised if, the week before the season starts, we don’t even have a striker. Top needs to bin the entire board and get some proper people in who know and understand football and who are not afraid to make tough decisions.

Hope Vardy stays and gets us back up.

The club has absolutely gone down the shitpan. I’m afraid, that’s the reality

People thinking he's going to rip up the championship, he isn't, he's done. It's sad but he not going to offer much now.

he will be fine no one is expecting him to play every game or even 90 minutes.

i would love Vardy to stay and be in the squad, but not if it's costing us £140k a week, £70k a week, maybe. He has nothing to prove to us, he's a legend, if there's a payday for him, go take it Vards.

He did show glimpses at the end of the season. He still has something to offer at Championship level, just not on those wages.

Exactly this. Apart from I even think 70k is steep now.

He’s the only one that if left wouldn’t leave a bitter taste in my mouth. I understand the others going but I still have this ‘Yeah it’s fine for you lot to underperform, not care and go and get your move to carry on playing in the prem’ bitter taste in my mouth.

if Vards goes, I wouldn’t feel like that at all. It would be more all good things come to an end unfortunately

He scored some classic Vardy goals. He won’t want to end his career with us as a relegation - he’ll be determined to help us get back up. And he is absolutely capable of scoring 20 goals next season. He isn’t going anywhere.
