Castagne to Arsenal

Recommended Posts

Selling him for 15-20 mill will be a good result in a present situation + we will still have 4 full backs if he's sold. Did well in his first season then went into decline like the rest of the squad, which was to be expected with an elite coach in charge. Probably on 70-80 k a week as well

Would snap their hand off.

Same here - The compilation that’s going around on twitter of his tekkers this season is hilarious.

Would be a small profit made on his fee too.

Ha ha the hate Castagne is getting.

Average/shit/get rid.

He's dutch international that would walk into 14 teams in the PL.

Our fans... seriously.

He has struggled to even hold down a regular place here for a prolonged period.

Also, he’s not got a single cap for Holland.

I’ve spent the last few years watching every game the mighty Oranges/Dutch national team have played in the hope that our lad Timmy gets a game.

He’s yet to play a bloody minute for them.

So that's Ricky P and Castagne linked with moves away. We're taking the Championship by storm with Albrighton, Hamza and Lewis Brunt on a timeshare at RB.

You are allowed to sign players you know. And we have JJ still.

Yep Ok Belgium.

Point remains. A solid PL quality fullback.

Of course he's going to leave but to think it doesn't weaken us is naive.

Your credibility goes when you make a balls up like that.

Easy mistake to make of course. Hitler did invade both of them.

We need money and he’ll generate a decent fee that outweighs the loss of the player.

As others have said full backs is an area of relative strength so if we can sell a couple for decent fees and free up wages then great (Ricardo/ Castagne).

we’d be left with Thomas, Justin and Kristianson which isn’t bad for the championship

Weaker yes but helps reduce wages and balance the squad

Of course he’s not a crap player. He’s been poor/average but they all have. Some will go on to been great elsewhere, some will stay here and be great again, and then there’s Danny Ward and Jannick Verstergaard :dunno:

But a player like Castagne is not one you keep around for the Championship. At the rumoured price, we could bring in 3/4 to strengthen across the team for that.

I agree with you….I remember the excitement when we realised we wouldn’t particularly miss Ricardo when he suffered his first injury. And bar when Ricardo’s fully fit, I still think Timmy’s our best full back.

However, after last season, I’m also genuinely not fussed if any of them leave.
