Justin has been rotten for a while now, some of his performances in the 2nd half of the season were so far off it, and while I've said I'll continue to wait on where I stand with Cooper his persistence to select him is baffling. His comments about not being at it are pretty much in line with the rest of his performances so far this season. I like Justin but he's got to sort himself out sharpish, he went from being one of the best young talents in the country to a shadow of the player he was before his injury.

Maybe I am, I’m rapidly developing an irrational dislike towards Cooper (as a manager, I’m sure he’s genuinely a lovely bloke)…. So naturally I’ll hang on anything that’s remotely  negative, I just want him gone as soon as possible.

All I can say is it's about the equivalent of me picking out "I feel like it's only a matter of time (a win) it's coming; just need to string it together from the start" from his comments and trying to make out that he's obviously well happy and confident in theirs and the managers abilities as he thinks it's coming no problem.

They are just players, they aren't great orators. They want to plod through the interview, trot out a few cliches and get back to the changing room and bugger off home.

It’s not Justin who should warrant any criticism for these comments.

You're letting a player off for openly admitting he wasn't up for the fight. How about some personal pride? The F**ker is on an unholy amount of money to not be up for the fight. Its a NON NEGOTIABLE.

Christ some of you lot let them get away with murder. Have some standards I beg....

Didnt he just say he feels the whole side weren't ready for how at it Eveton were going to be. So he isn't just on about himself is he.

I never said it was JUST him, my comment can be aimed at every single one of them if it's easier to swallow for you? The sentiment is still exactly the same.

You specifically said you're letting a player off for saying "he" wasn't up for the fight. Calm down brother

His quote about not being up the fight included himself, so yeah the team, including but not limited to, James Justin. Either way, inexcusable!

He's a million miles off of it. Not sure if it was just his electric pace that got him out of trouble before his injury but he needs to adapt his game because I didn't think he was that good even last season.

Everything dangerous is coming down our right hand side and Cooper has to solve that.

Bumping this after the OTT criticism. Sounds like he still needs to work on his positioning but he’s getting a run of games and hopefully his confidence will come through.

That 2nd goal was superb. If JJ can get back near to the 2019/20 version, we have got some player.

tbf the criticism has been warranted; as alot of the goals we've let in in the league this season have come down the right flank and at times because of JJ poor positioning

think in the everton game he got done 4 times in the first 12 mins

while he did well for the goals he scored today, he cant cover the fact hes been pretty poor for the most part of the season,

at times i do think he could be better at LB

Criticism is warranted but looking at the comments in this thread, it’s been way too strong.

Agree with him moving to the left and Ricardo in at RB, it’s a no-brainer!

Criticism is warranted. The extent of that criticism hasn't been. Frankly, it's pathetic at times as it always is with certain players on here. He's lots of posters favourite scapegoat so when he plays well, it's ignored, but 1 small mistake or rather, something he might have done better and he's committed a diabolical sin.

He's been nowhere near the level he was at when he got injured that's for sure. And you can't deny that lots of the goals have come down his side either. But watch the games and it's hardly like he's dropping clangers left, right and centre. Couple of times today in the match thread people were saying how awful after a couple of moments. Yet both of those came when we inexplicably gave the ball away deep in our own half so he couldn't possibly have been in the right position. And then you look at where Faes was both times and how we reacted as it was abysmal. Yet the blame falls to Justin.

Like most people, desperately want Ricardo in but I'd get Justin back in at left back (where his best football has been) because he's been a damn sight better than VK
