...that pretty much explains the choice not to confirm the injury is another example of poor communication by the club!!!

All this speculating about something that should have been clarified in a matter of days.

Is it gout, an ailment the club would find to be embarrassing, plantar fascia problems or some ailment that is so common place, it is not worth mentioning.

They have turned an everyday occurrence into "Murder she wrote."

See, you can make it up.

We don ’t need to know

The fact there is radio silence from the Club may mean there was indeed something missed at the medical?

if  this true, my God was a screw up and if this were to get out, the Club would be correctly toasted by FT…..

I think its being kept quiet due to the transfer window plus why tell the opposition everything....

Bingo.

If he has hurt himself badly, then it makes us desperate to buy another and pay over the top.

Crap happens, just gotta move on play with who is healthy and aim to win.

I’m a bit perplexed as to how Wolves, Everton think he is not that good but a lot of fans on here think he is going to be amazing and it’s a disaster him being injured.

Careful with that negative and toxic mindset on here mate.

He’s basically the scouse Maldini.

People desperate to be positive. The reality is the bloke isn’t good enough for the top level and will more than likely become a hinderance on FFP if we go back up. Couple that with a serious injury this guy is just going to end up a serious waste of money.

I’ll be surprised if he and Winks turn out to be anything other than underwhelming signings for us in the long term.

You confuse not being negative with being positive - subtle, but not difficult with practice

In a way he is right , twelve months ago Coady and Winks would have gone down like a lead balloon on here. What we are hoping is that they will be effective at this level , we do not know that yet.

One of the main reasons we went down is because we had a squad overloaded with players nobody else wanted so we couldnt make the changes needed to the squad. Coady and Winks will fall into that category if we go back up. You don’t drop down a league at the ages they are if you are good enough.

I am thanks. Just not going to pretend that these signings are anything other that short sighted and desperate. Happy to be proven wrong but i’m fairly certain in this instance i won’t be.

If he was seriously injured, given how key to our plans he is, i would expect him to have been replaced as rapidly as he was initially brought in.  There hasn't really been any gossip about signing any more CBs.

We don't but, injury aside, there isn't a scrap of evidence to suggest that they will be the financial and footballing disaster being made out here - so it seems tragic and pessimistic to assume they will be before they've even kicked a ball.   Even after just a week or so playing together we could see they had bonded on the pitch and grasped the Maresca principle.

I get that there were fears they were 'on the way down' or 'just here for a payday' - but nothing they've done or said suggests other than that they feel they have something to prove here and still have some football in them.

Still can't believe the board paid 7.5m for him.....seems like his best days are over and he worth about 1m or less

Transfermarkt, who typically under value players, value him at 12m.

I’m not sure I initially loved the Coady and Winks signings but let’s see how they both get on before we lump them in the Bertrand camp shall we?

Coady for starters has to be one of the most vocal CB’s in the game and considering the overhaul of tactics, lower opposition it should be a half decent signing at worse surely.

The quoted price plus the loan fee to everton would have been about this amount.  So not unreasonable.

Coady is not going to go missing , he will give it his best shot I'm sure and he will motivate the team . I am hoping that Maresca sticks to the same two ( or three) as often as possible . We need continuity at the back.

Wolves and Everton are in a higher division than us. I don't think he's a good Premier League defender but in the Championship and in a team that we can expect is going to have most of the ball in the majority of games, he ought to be useful unless we've already crippled him for good

Being in a division lower than those teams probably has something to do with it.
