The way they're describing it makes it sound like a bad injury. So if it's not, the comms aren't helping.

The idea that they're trying to be vague deliberately so other clubs don't think he's got a major injury to not drive up the price for extra cover is for the birds, not all clubs have a DoF as daft as Rudkin!

They'll know. It's going to be a long time, they just don't want to announce it because it will weaken our hand in negotiations.

It’s more likely that it’s the type of injury that has a big  variance in healing time so it’s hard to say how long he will be out for. He carried on playing with it initially, so it’s likely to be anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on how quick of a healer Coady is.

Pretty sure it wouldn't take much for other clubs and agents etc. to find out what it is

Always going to be someone they can get the info from no matter how quiet the club is about it in public

The only reason I could think of is if they are waiting to see how he improves from whatever treatment he is being given?

Suspect he will possibly need surgery but they are trying something else first and hoping it improves without surgery.

Sound like an injury where you could have an operation but it might not be essential right now.

Yeah I think this is likely what is going on

Cannot fanny around the issue same with Maddison's hip replacement, if he needs surgery it has to happen, he will be out for a while, we just have to get used to it unfortunately.

Please say this is a windup, this would be a new level of incompetence even for us…

Who performs the medicals these days? Our staff or external people? If the latter would we have legal recourse if this is true?

Surely not?!

Not a wind up, it’s what I’ve been told by someone who isn’t a lcfc fan.

Apparently broken foot which he had before he joined and wasn’t picked up in the medical.

Either way, having a broken foot isn’t an injury that would make a player fail a medical.

We really are a special level of special sometimes.

A player that has never had a senior career injury, has been injured before even playing a match for us!

They're not describing it any way!  We know absolutely nothing beyond the fact that it's foot injury and he's not currently available....

That’s my point - they’re saying so little it makes it sound a worse injury.

No chance he had a broken foot when he joined.

You aren’t doing X amount of training sessions and playing in 3.5 friendly games with a broken foot before it flares up!

No it doesn't.  It sounds like it could be absolutely anything.  I think you're just being paranoid or have reached such a degree of pessimism that you're reading the worst case into something that really couldn't be more unspecific.

LOL, I’m an optimist! Chill out.

My point was that some posters think being cagey on this means other clubs may not think he has a serious injury which is a bit naive. They’ll think instead it maybe is serious as Leicester are being so vague/tight lipped and so hold out for more if we wanted another CB.

Hopefully it’s an injury where they’re hoping to avoid surgery so giving it more time and he’ll be back soon.

The club seem to have adapted a very low key approach to social media this season - take for example the low key signing reveals - and i think this is probably the same, just trying to keep down to earth and subtle after the high profile nonsense of BR-PR.  Maybe it's a quirk of Maresca, or maybe it's just that it's such an innocuous injury, with such an unpredictable time frame that revealing what it is won't make things any clearer to most of us.  Who knows, but from what others have posted there aren't really any major, long term foot injuries, and also that he played on with it, so it's unlikely he'll be out for too long....

...that pretty much explains the choice not to confirm the injury is another example of poor communication by the club!!!

All this speculating about something that should have been clarified in a matter of days.

Is it gout, an ailment the club would find to be embarrassing, plantar fascia problems or some ailment that is so common place, it is not worth mentioning.

They have turned an everyday occurrence into "Murder she wrote."

See, you can make it up.

I don't think 'they' have, though - it's just a hand full of people who seem to be deeply concerned by the injury; the rest of us, when we even give it a thought are more laissez faire - it is what it is, whatever it is, and when it's better he'll be back.

If this was, say, Souttar, no one would be making this fuss.  VK has an injury, i don't see anyone starting a thread demanding to see his medical records.
