He was allowed to play on, while injured, in a meaningless pre-season friendly. That's not great management of an injury is it? He should have not been allowed to 'run it off' in a game that meant nothing, especially.

Take someone off after every impact? Otherwise how to know if its a good or bad impact?

How do you know it would have made a difference?

We don't need to buy anyone.  We've got ample cover for those positions and if needed could get away with playing Justin back there if needs be.  You can get away with one or two square pegs in round holes in this league no problem.

depends if the club are intending to keep Faes i guess, we pick up another injury as well and we are playing players out of position already.

Hopefully means Vesty will be off aswell. Think Faes defo stays

I think we might see souttar sold or loaned and someone else brought in to compensate for the injury.  Also explains managers comments regarding players out as well.

For someone who doesn’t want to be here he doesn’t half turn down so many opportunities to leave.

I know he seems a strange guy. He did an interview in the Danish press pretty much saying he's not happy but then refuses to move when the opportunity arises. Ultimately he just wants money and won't move anywhere that pays less than us and realistically, nobody other than Saudi teams would pay him what we are

Even if not fancied, keep souttar until next Jan window as backup. If Cody is on fire by then, look at loan options for Souttar.

Also need to consider if the Enzo project is a failure. New management might fancy Souttar more.

It's a bloody impact injury. Give it a break.

I thought I read it wasn't an impact injury and that's what caused the confusion about what the problem was?

Believe unless we are in the bottom six by Xmas then Maresca is safe. Club has invested too much in him and his backroom team to pull the trigger too soon.

Maybe. I have a completely unfounded opinion that he won’t be given the sort of time Rodgers was given. Next few games will be interesting because if we get a good start no way will we be bottom 6 by Xmas.

Very disappointing, but it could be worse. Honestly this club and injuries it really makes you sick.

The player has a responsibility to let the trainers know how it feels as well. If he tells them it doesn't hurt, what are they supposed to do ?

We only bought Souttar in January. It’s bonkers that the club have thrown him on the scrap heap already.

What evidence do we have to suggest this is likely to end in failure?  It looks the polar opposite to me.

Under what set of circumstances are we likely to be in the bottom 6 by Xmas?  lol

These what if scenarios are beginning to bother me.  People are over thinking it.  Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.  We're finishing top (or 2nd) this season.

Ironically if we'd of sacked Rogers earlier we would of saved the transfer fee of Souttar as the new manager would of played Soyunchu and that would of covered Rogers pay off.

We are one league game in. Complacency is what killed us last season. Club should have ideas in their back pocket if things turned pear shaped. Should be standard contingency planning. With where we are, sacking off Souttar and getting backup for Coady doesn’t feel smart to me.

Think the problem with Souttar is he doesn’t have the leadership or experience to replace Coady, nor the pace or skill for the Faes role, think he’s a victim of the system more than anything
