Ultimately I don’t think he truly believes in himself currently. Seemed too hesitant with the ball, especially in the second half. It’s a bit unfair to be too judgemental though because there needs to be more than just him as our only attacking midfielder linking the play with the strikers. It seemed at times all on him to get us forward bar Ayew occasionally falling over to get free kicks.

Not sure it was excellent and I don't want to play him down or anything. But it somehow went across 3 Liverpool players. Ayew had no right getting to it. 

 

The thing with Mavididi is how frustrating he is. Had a couple of counters and he went into traffic as opposed to going down the line and ended up losing the ball. 

Maybe it's a confidence thing or being asked to do too much. If we have the opportunity to buy another winger in January i think we should. Not to displace Mavididi but just to have another option other than Reid as competition.

Not a fan but thought he worked hard first half to support VK. Dropped a bit second half and overall a few poor decisions but set us up for 2-2 only to see Dakinbiyi do all he could to avoid the ball

The one in second half was on Daka, the one in the first half was a very poor ball from Mavididi. I don’t think he realised how easy a pass it was to make and hit it too hard.

Shows flashes of being good enough, got the assist for the goal. But doesn't carry a consistent threat and gave the ball away a lot. Other problems in the squad, but it would be nice to have another winger to compete with him.

I was referring to the actual assist he got for Ayew and the one he lined up for Daka in the second half not that 1st Daka one tho I thought that one was as much about Daka not expecting a pass. Vardy would’ve made that an assist too.

Man do we miss Abdul! Getting a free pass in the team atm with no competition. Was knocking on the door that little period where he was out on the bench but has not taken the chance once the starting berth has arrived.

 

We can't have every player playing it back, we need that gamechanger to take the bull by the horns and give the opposition something to worry about.

 

He needs to step up his game big time. Far too predictable and one trick pony as things stand when we know he's got it in the locker on his day!

I like him but good grief he makes some erratic decisions, loves to run into traffic rather than space — almost like he doesn't back himself in any foot race. About the only time he did so today resulted in a goal. Loads of times you just want him to take off and he doesn't.

 

I think he'd be a decent squad player for a side hovering between 12th - 16th, but we badly miss Fatawu and we need to bring in some competition in January.

Don't rate him. That pass late in the first half to Daka was the easiest assist he could've had and his general play was poor

 

That being said if Daka weren't a donkey he would've walked away with 2 assists yesterday .. needs replacing but the main issue atm is the right side without fats

I think he is a big confidence player and it’s clear at the moment his confidence is very low, hence his unwillingness to dribble at defenders.

 

One other thing that has always bugged me about him, even in the Championship, is that he doesn’t make runs off the ball ahead of the player with the ball when a counter attack is on. He just stands there waiting for the ball to feet or jogging behind the player with the ball. 


But, overall, he just needs to back himself more, as I still think he can offer something at this level.

I'm just not convinced at this notion about confidence. Multiple times yesterday he tried to dribble when the correct option was to pass and then when he should have dribbled (when it was 1 vs 1) he just passed the ball back. 

 

To me he seems like an arrogant player, he waves his arms around all the time and can he somewhat lazy.

Will be glossed over as he scored (and fair play for gambling) but he was absolutely honking today and same thing in all his recent appearances. Wastes so many good opportunities on the break and a complete lack of composure when he gets the ball.

 

I certainly didn't get the viewpoint from some as though he was going to be a great player at this level but I did think he'd at least be decent and the sort of player that is a mid table winger, or bench option for a top half side maybe. Been so disappointing. Desperately need an actual winger brought in during this window.
