Anyone know when Wilf is due back?

We desperately miss his physicality in midfield. That 2nd half last night (vs Palace) was so passive and disappointing. It was right up there with some of the worst 45mins I’ve seen from us in the last couple of seasons. Just like the Wolves game a couple of weeks back, in these massive relegation 6 pointers we’re struggling to win our midfield battles and turn the screw on teams.

Winks seems to be suffering a dip in form too, but fortunately Soumare’s performance upturn has been a welcome surprise. Skipp continues to disappoint and Choudhury probably isn’t quite at the level we need. Having Wilf back is huge for us, just a shame he quite injury prone nowadays.

My other worry is that he tends to come back from injury particularly rusty, more so than other players and takes a while to get back into his stride. We’ve come to accept it as we can’t afford to buy a replacement as good as him who doesn’t have these problems. For interceptions and physicality he is still at a very good level, I just worry how few games we’ll get this season of the 100% version of him.

Probably the end of the month

Jan 09: 'He’s continuing his individual training. He’s not yet with the team. He’s pushing harder on an individual basis. Hopefully, we can welcome him to team training over the coming weeks.'

Wilf can't come back soon enough, We've struggled badly without him.

The only one who might be able to do that job iplaying in front of the defence is Faes alongside Soumare and Skipp.

He'd charge around winning balls back like Wilf without too much responsability and he's comfortable enough with the Ball at his feet.

We've nothing to lose we're not winning games anyway,  So we need to try and find something new to turn results around.

When is he back? Never thought id say it but it has all gone to shite since hes been injured. Losing him and our only winger with the x factor in Fatawu has ruined us. Soumare and Winks together are not working and need changing

Classic case of someone's value going up in their absence. Lot of people forget he wasn't in the greaest form this season and the balance in the midfield was no better with him in there. Don't think he's ever played a full season for us either, there's always a strain or a tear mid-season.

The big problem is we never found a replacement, another failure from the recruitment team.

Makes such a big difference having someone like him in midfield who can actually defend

Basically gave up the midfield with Winks coming on for him, not that we had any other real options anyway...

Great to see him back. Enjoy him for the rest of the season because he doesn't play again in the championship for us!

Yep, I remember start of last season pre transfer deadline, most of this board considered him the devil incarnate.

Always has been an absolute legend for us. Even on his off days..

Yep, my favourite player has been since his early days. Has limitations, but him starting to lack consistent fitness it a big reason we have struggled.

He helps us going forwards too, he’s always had a knack of influencing of the play further ahead but he’s improved massively in possession too.

10 off 300 apps for us.

Wilf has been a really loyal servant hasn't he.

What a great buy.

If we go down he fully deserves a move away. Hell if we stay up I’d give him my blessings to move on for the sake of his career. He’s absolutely miles clear of us.
