Lorenzo Colombo as a replacement.

He’s the type of striker Enzo would like. Good hold up play, strong, links up well..

but we have other assets that don't even get in the squad and you are banging on about selling our only starting forward.

What about the wages? after this season we won't be paying him nothing, if we bring in another player with the sale then we have to pay them to.

The wages still count this year. The point is you can replace and halve the salary.

It’s gone strangely now, don’t you think?

I’ll post this again when he’s gone just as I have in the past - he’s been the most squandered talent we’ve ever had on the books.

If we’d based attacks around his strengths we’d be hailing him one of our greatest signings.

Criminally under-utilised.

I'm unsure on this.

When he's on song, and is in a system utilising him either as a deep lying 9 or a 10, then he's brilliant with his talent undoubtedly hasn't been used enough.

But all too often his touch is a yard off, his shots just off target too. And even when everything is funneled through him, he just can't produce that end product.

Not coming here, going to be Petagna's replacement who just recently joined Cagliari.

I'm guessing this post is satirical, as nobody normal would want to sell Kels and Wilf.

Why is it?

2 players in the last year of their contracts who don't want really want to be here and there's 30 million on the table? You take it.

We made the mistake last season and it cost us relegation, we can't afford to do it again.

Get them gone now and players Maresca wants and suits his system.

Whilst I agree I am thinking we have little timetable replace unless there is something on the burner

All the indications are that the manager does want both players to stay. Any emergency replacements are likely to be inferior

Sooner the better imo, we'll have targets identified for replacements.

People seem to have a lot of faith in the club considering the cluster**** the last few years have been. We 'should' have had a replacement lined up for Fofana, did we? Did we ****! Ended up with sideshow bob.

Which is fair enough because they're quality players.

Replacement would probably be inferior given the league were but actually the output may be higher in Enzo setup?

I.e. a Chair for Ndidi swap would most probably give a higher ratio of goals/assists over a season.

Long term money in the bank, reduced wages & more cash for Enzo to spend after promotion.

Fofana is slightly different I'd say it was a span of 2-3 weeks where Chelsea came in, he kicked up a stink. We have been relegated 3 months and Enzo has been here 2 months, also we are looking for a top level championship player not a premiership replacement, though one would be nice. If they haven't organised a contingency, they are even more laughable than is thought.

I wonder if we may be able to loan someone such as Borja from Chelsea. He seems to have gone quiet since his spell at Southampton and isn’t getting in the Chelsea squad. Whether he would be more likely to go to a Premier League side I don’t know but if we sold Nacho and Daka and brought in say Borja on loan and Leaburn as a young for the future option, that’d be good business. But, a lot to do so close to deadline.

That's because he suffered a serious knee injury last December and still hasn't returned.

Anyway I can see Nacho going and we'll end up with Maupay. Foxes Talk will implode with rage, whilst Maupay goes on to score 20 goals to take Leicester to the title.

I get you. I think I'm just intrinsically against being in a position of weakness in business. Which is where we are right now.  I'd rather front it out. Which means, in this case, hanging on to our elite players.

Losing them damages our chances of success and damages the brand. Ideally we only  sell when we have the upper hand (say Castagne, who we had no real need for anyway)

It's the old 'know the price for everything but the value of nothing' argument. Both of our respective views on the economics of this are  perhaps right and wrong in equal measure. You go economy. I go strategy.

Ah didn’t know this. So possibly part of Chelsea’s plans?

Maupay has a good record at this level. Definitely think he could get good numbers. Again, maybe a loan with an option or just straight up loan to plug the gap for this season.
