Man U or Spurs and Chelsea winning their European tournaments are like Celtic winning the SPL. 

It should be the minimum requirement. 

 

Good for their fans but nobody else really cares.

Our luck, this is the year spurs win.

 

We go down, vardy leaves, leeds promoted, forest get some European competition, harry kane finally wins a league and spurs win a cup lol

Shows you how strong the PL is that two lower midtable teams wipe the floor with the rest of Europe's B tier sides.

 

Athletic are absolutely no mugs and the worst Man United side for x decades blitzed them (the early red didn't help). It's quite interesting there is some churn in the sides from England qualifying for Europe, even if Notts Forest are one of them.

Yes I think so. I can see Spurs pulling the trigger on Postecoglou as it’s his second season and they have clearly got worse.  Amorim however only took over last November and needs a summer transfer window of his own before he can be judged.  Still horrendous season even if they win it.

He has an over inflated opinion of his managerial history.   He keeps talking about winning trophies with Celtic and Brisbane Roar.  :facepalm:

Spurs will luckily get a win tonight some how which is disgusting. Would love to see one last ange melt down before he gets fired but no doubt they will win tonight as Utd are just as bad if not worse. What a shite season 😂 none of them deserve champions league next season

The question is: In which state are both teams financially? We know they're pretty much in huge debt but does anyone have a more in depth analysis about it? 

Spurs have a big debt mainly coming from the stadium, wages are quite high and they spent a lot the past couple of seasons. They'll surely be in massive trouble without Champions League football next season? There's going to be a huge rebuild if they lose making them favourites to go down next season maybe. 

Man Utd are also in a bad state by the looks of it and they've already began cutting expenses here and there. But it's Man Utd so idk if any authority can touch them. Plus they still have global revenue.

If spurs win then we lose a massive number of jokes that are the staple diet of many people down here 

 

we usually say ‘may the best team win’ - tonight ‘may the worst team lose’ would be more appropriate

We've obviously not got a dedicated 24/25 Europa League thread then :D

 

Can't believe it's 41 years since Spurs bear Anderlecht in the old UEFA cup final. Say what you want about Spurs these days but they were a decent team to watch back then. 

 

I couldn't really give a toss who wins tonight. My guess is a cagey affair that goes to ET and pens
