Another blight on the King Power era that 10 years on the club have done nothing to bring back the thousands of Leicester fans still stuck in Copenhagen.

The thing is that the statement that: “this is as bad as it’s ever been” isn’t some subjective assessment. It’s based on evidence that is measurable or fact based.

Leicester City are 142 years old. Their current position in the league is their lowest in history. They have a squad based on academy products, lower league journeyman and expensive, premier league, flops they can’t get rid of.

On the pitch it’s the lowest ever. Off the pitch it’s barely been sustainable with transfer embargoes, points deductions and dubious financial decision making.

Under Pleat it was just a period under a very poor manager. Under Taylor it was worse as administration threatened our existence and there is an argument to say that this “could” have been our worst period in history, but we have the certain knowledge that it wasn’t. We recovered under Pearson and got promoted with a squad that looked too good for the third tier. The current squad certainly doesn’t at this point in time.

The Thai ownership was our best ever. It’s also our worst ever. Both those statements can be true. What some people fail to grasp is that things can go wrong at any level. Managers, players, coaches, scouts can all start off well before things go stale and they need replacing. The owners are no different and it’s probably become obvious they’ve stayed 4 or 5 years longer than they should have done. They could have left as heroes.

All fans understand and appreciate our current position. All of us are desperate to keep supporting the club. The problem is that the seeds for our revival need to be sown. Instead we have the same owners, the same director of football, the same dubious managerial appointments, the same, potentially reckless, approach to recruitment (in terms of length of contracts for ageing players) and evidence of genuine change is difficult to identify.

If, in the next few months, Russell Martin proves his worth, the exciting youngsters that we’ve got continue to develop, we have a pragmatic approach to transfers, our remaining high wage wasters are purged, we get some new investment and we see clear evidence of change. I’m sure everyone will be excited and on board.

It was, however, the choice of the owners to keep John Rudkin. Just as it was to appoint a manager that few supporters wanted and to hand out long contracts to lower league journeyman. So, if it continues to fail from here, the criticism and despondency will be inevitable and, potentially, justified.

There was a comment on here a while ago, I believe from @Paninistickers, which claimed that's section of our fanbase are not comfortable with us being a good team and this adds to it. Look at the tone of the comments; the successful times are played down whilst attending during the (previous) grim era almost a badge of honour.

The dismissal of people moaning as kids (the acceptable ageism, clearly) and the seeming pride at this failure. The constant reference to the Pleat era as the worst time when we have declined below that level twice since. The fact is that the moaners and entitled lot in the stadium haven't walked away either, they are no glory supporters.

Very bizarre people living a bizarre existence. Nobody is impressed you still blindly back the club and talk it down- people find it odd.

There’s no other term to use

I remember all of them basically trying to block any reform of the away priority scheme because it "didn't effect them" because "we go to every game".

More toe curling comments from the Ginetta family in Tanner's latest piece.

It's a health condition at this point for them.
