woznotwos Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 In a significant blow to the Super Eagles’ aspirations at the 2023 African Nations Cup (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, dynamic midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been sidelined due to injury. The influential Leicester City player sustained the setback while in action for his English club, prompting concerns about his availability for the continental showdown.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Take it with a lorry load of salt as it's in The Scum. States Kasper possibly joining Sheff U on loan and also mentions them possibly ending Luke Thomas' loan early. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25231073/kasper-schmeichel-sheffield-united-premier-league-leicester-transfer/ Meanwhile, United could send defender Luke Thomas back to Leicester by ending his season-long loan early. The Thomas decision may depend on the fitness of left-back Max Lowe, who picked up a groin injury in training last week. Blades chiefs know if Thomas, 22, returns to the Foxes, it frees up space for an extra loan signing.
FosseSpark Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Should definitely go in for Jordan James and ship Praet. a front six of Winks, KDH, James, Fatawu, Mavididi, Cannon and we would hit 120 points. He plays in that half way line to inside right channel which is exactly what we need with Ndidi at AFCON and possibly off.

CloudFox Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Brighton's Jeremy Sarmiento has been recalled from his loan at WBA and sent out to Ipswich instead. So odd that these kinds of deals happen in the Championship, moving between loan clubs in the same division. I didn't think he'd done that well at West Brom either, had he?

Started just 7 games, and 6 of those when WBA had clearly been given the 'wtf are you playing at' by Brighton. Ipswich will have assured Brighton he starts most games, interesting to see how he gets on

The lad only signed a new deal last summer and every season he's stepping up a level and killing it. We may frustratingly have our sights set on players with bigger potential but I really rate him, his creative stats are off the scale.

Seems a shame/waste
Happy Fox Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Didn’t someone mention Andrey Santos from Chelsea could be a player we bring in on loan? He’s just been recalled by Chelsea from Forest.

StriderHiryu Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Finn Azaz is a good championship player, but I'm not sure he'd cut it in the Premier League. Same with Jordan James. Both have potential though for sure. Harry Winks was an amazing signing because you knew he'd be a good Premier League player. I always had some reservations with Coady (didn't get into the Wolves team, Everton didn't want him) but he still fits the bill of being a player that is good enough to play in the top flight. That's why the Carvalho signing makes some sense, though if it's not gone an option to buy then I'm not sure if it's such a good signing either, though who knows maybe it will end up being an 18 month loan deal instead. Andrey Santos I'd be keen on having a closer look at. Can we trade in Casadei to get him? Of all the people we've been linked to Gronbaek is by far the most interesting, now that Beraldo went to PSG. 4
cityfanlee23 Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 I'd be interested in seeing if Ben Godfrey fancies a short loan spell, has been on the bench for most games this season and can't get a sniff, easily championship standard and under the right manager I think he can still be a good premier league player, 25 years old. Rumours are Roma are interested though so if there's anything to that story we will obviously lose that battle. 1
cityfanlee23 Posted 3 January 2024 Posted 3 January 2024 Emile Smith Rowe another obvious one, had an injury mid season but has been on and off the bench a lot, he's been messed about by Arsenal quite a bit for a few years now, would we be in a position to go in for a loan with a view to a permanent deal in summer if it works out? I just wish he was not so fragile, he tends to get small niggling injuries but he has had 3 significant injuries since 2018/19, missing 24/15/14 games for all 3.

He'll definitely leave Aberdeen in the summer window if he doesn't during this window. Wouldn't be surprised to see him rock up at Southampton. Aberdeen's Head of Recruitment, Darren Mowbray, went there in the summer and he was influential in getting Miovski to Aberdeen. That coupled with Ross Stewart's long-term injury meaning they might be in the market for a striker. Apart from Celtic and Rangers the Scottish PL is compatible with our league 2.
