xG only counts if you get the shot away. Vardy was inches away from connecting for a tap in, and KDH and Wilf both squared when they could have shot for high value chances.

xG is okay but I think it's a very complicated statistic, the xG is fine but it doesn't really have any way to take into account the quality of player or the quality of chances. Given the quality of chances we create not just in terms of shots on goal but also in terms of getting into a shooting position. In terms of shots taken to goals scored we should be top of the table with the players we have which was my point on that. 

All of this was part of a wider point that on many occasions this season we have gone into the final 15 minutes with the opposition still able to take points from us, yes ultimately we have finished off many games in that final period, but given the quality we have, we should be burying games long before that.

Great game to watch. A lot of great bits, some iffy moments and should have scored a few more.

 

Thought Swansea were decent too but just could not live with us. KDH absolutely outstanding again. Since he has been told to think about his runs he has got better and better. Missus is on a promise tonight. 🙂

Fair play to Swansea, they had a right go, and were still trying hard at 2-1 down, compared with Stoke who gave up after they conceded.

 

Only after the last one did Swansea really look out of it.

I understand what xG does and doesn't illustrate.

 

I think your expectations are too high and sometimes your posts are written with hyperbolic language which doesn't always help your point.

 

We've had the best start to the second tier in 131 years.
