Sunderland every bit as good as I thought. Looked at this game for weeks as the toughest we’ve had yet and it’s turned out that way. A team that actually moves.

That being said, even accounting for their impact on the game, we’ve been poor yet have a goal and hit the post twice. We’ve not handled their press at all, we’ve had some success in the press but have also struggled with it at times. But the biggest issue is we just don’t seem switched on. Quality of passing has been poor on occasion, passes to the wrong foot, players switching off all over the place. Look like we’re struggling tactically so hopefully Enzo shores it up at half time.

I'm impressed by Sunderland, I fully expect them to be in the playoffs this season & based on how they are playing I may have a bet on them getting promoted

We miss Ndidi, end of the second half showed it alot. It's a decent game, S'land have a few decent players and so far I've really enjoyed the Ricky v Roberts battle.

... they probably should've had a penalty, with VAR they give it against Faes.

Not just the peno shout, Faes was honking most of that half.

the whole defence has looked shakey even the keeper cause we have changed it around

Sunderland have played surprisingly well and yet we should be 3-1 up at least. Stone wall pen against Faes to be fair.

I imagine the ref might see that at half time. Don’t know for sure. Hope not.

still, 1-0 up and creating chances.

That might be the worst we’ve played so far in terms of in possession.

Yet we’ve scored one and hit the post twice.

Bit early to say if Sunderland are the best side we’ve played, but they are 100% the best when it comes to pressing. We’ve struggled to play round them.

Big second half.

vardy on for nacho after an hour

Sunderland best I’ve seen us play this season so far.

We hit the post twice, nacho should have scored his chance tbf

they should have had a pen

winks continues to impress me

Reckon this will end 3-1

For how poor we have still come close to scoring a couple more times as well

Even if Sunderland do get one there will still be more chances for us to score again

Nice to finally see a team come here and have a go

These are a good quick young team but after a difficult start we came in and competed well and deserve to be ahead. Silly card for Kel to get. Should concentrate on his first touch rather than clapping the ref.

I’d forgotten what a competitive game was like. They’re easily the best we’ve faced. Actually having a go. Their press and energy levels are causing us real problems. Mads has gone long more in this game than the rest of the season out together. Wilf is a miss. Nacho’s miss was poor. Everyone needs to up their game significantly. It’s a brutal league and teams won’t roll-over week in, week out. Butch has done okay, but needs to be a lot more visible for the ball. We have ti get it wider quicker. Mav looks good. Fats has hardly touched it where we want him to touch it.

We were 2nd best in that half! Massive respect to Sunderland, to play that way with such a young team shows guts.

Their press will take it out of them, I don't think they can play this way for the full 90 minutes, but likewise this is taking it out of us. Enzo needs to get into them, passes are too sloppy and we are rushing the ball too much. Mads has made some great saves but I think he is going long way too often, which is turning the ball over too quickly. Our best moments come when we get it down and play, or when we win the ball high in their half. We need to impose OUR game here, it's been the opposite so far.

Regardless, this has been a great game! This might be the Championship, but this is a Premier League style match.

This.

Not been able to get into our rhythm at all, players being forced to play passes they don't want. Massive credit to Sunderland and Mowbray, they've been really good.

See what Enzo does at the break and hopefully we grow into this 2nd half.
