eastendfox Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Actually no bad thing to be put under pressure and make sure complacency doesn’t get too much. 3
Simonb Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Few off the pace tbh.. faes is struggling.. casadei not been great bar his 'almost' assist.. Nacho more time moaning than playing.. mavididi not been involved bar the post. I expect us to come out in the second half.. struggle for 10.. then regain the ball and go 2-0 and then hopefully they'll tire
Popular Post dmayne7 Posted 24 October 2023 Popular Post Posted 24 October 2023 That was a quality save by the keeper from Iheanacho. And the fact is he made a quality connection with what required really good technique. But of course, it's Iheanacho so he can do no good in some people's eyes. 7
Aus Fox Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Interesting thought with Winks, he is one booking away from a ban. Personally, I’d be telling him to get a booking second half and put his feet up against QPR, rather than risk picking up a booking in that game and missing the Leeds game.
ARTY_FOX Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Should of had atleast another on an off night. We'll score a couple second half imo. 1
when_you're_smiling Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Interesting they’re stretching us which means we have to try longer passes which are not as accurate and causing more problems. When we do get through though there’s plenty of options at the back. We probably need three, but reckon we’ll probably get three to be honest. They’re not going to tire as much as other teams though.

Needs to quit the whining at the ref.. ref wants to get rid of him
FosseSpark Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Yeah I think Choudhury could be put on to **** Ekwah, Bellingham, Neil up a bit and let our players get on the ball.

Casadei hiding and Fatawu disappeared' How to reason with him? I disagree on all points. Casadei has been hiding

But we could have scored 3 but for their keeper and the woodwork. We need to find some of that determination and grit to soak up the pressure and be much more precise and clinical on the break. They do build up quite well and have a lot of movement on and off the ball, and it catches us out until we get enough bodies back. Ricardo is doing well defensively to cover, but we have been sloppy for too much of the first half. That's the thing with their style of play, they will leave gaps in behind (as we do), so if you turn the ball over there are opportunities to be had. The frenetic pace of the game is very Premier League. They have a young team, and you can see their naivety, e.g. the corner marking, no one picking up Casadei or Nacho for one of our chances, etc. But this is probably the first time that over the entire half you would struggle to say we had control of the game. Hull might have led against us, but we were in control. This time round we are ahead, but they are dictating large parts of the game. It can be fixed, but if we don't fix it, then trouble awaits.
Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 I must be watching a different game, Casadei has been pretty decent. Overall been a bit of a struggle though with moments of being very dangerous. Let's hope we can get more control of the game in the 2nd half. 4

Pita Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Sunderland been a good side given us something to think about just need a good second half 2

Yep, they still look more likely to score next because of their pressure and dominance. Hopefully their youthfulness works in our favour and they start to tire. We score and pressure a lot in the final 15-20 minutes of games, but usually that does rely on a stronger bench too.
Gazza M Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Forced us to play more direct tonight. Our toughest test for a while so far. 1

Nothing to do with whether you like Nacho or not. That should have been a goal. The keeper should have had no chance. Given the position he was in, it should have been buried. It won’t matter this season though. We’ll score enough anyway and so will Nacho.

Countryfox Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Fair play to Sunderland for making a game of it .. . great to watch .. but at the end of the day .. we’re fvckin winning again !! ..
cityfanlee23 Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Sunderland are the better team yet we could still be 3 up if chances had gone our way, this division is pretty poor overall. Looking forward to the future, we really need to improve if we go up, I know we are nowhere near promoted yet, but January is a pivotal month to strengthen IMO with players at the level of Winks, players currently at PL clubs that are not getting the chances they deserve. I know we also have a lot of games left to really click as a unit, but the next window needs to be meticulously executed, we have been quite comfortable in most games by the 90th minute this season, but if they were prem games, given the chances we have given away to opponents this season we could well be struggling. I know there are a lot of people who think we are playing at the level of a mid table prem club, but to be honest i think we are a long way off that right now. Hopefully we can just keep chipping away and improving week by week.
KP Fox Posted 24 October 2023 Posted 24 October 2023 Come on Leicester! Concentrate in the opening minutes of this second half

I agree, he's been no worse than KDH, who gets all the plaudits.

The flip side of that is that iheanacho can do no wrong in some peoples eyes. It was a chance he should have scored. The keeper did make a very good save tho, but he still has to score that. He’s been average besides that, some good and some bad. Really silly booking tho, I think he would have kept clapping all game if the ref didn’t book him then.
