Another 6 points deducted and they are still going to be 2 points ahead of Sheff Utd and just 1 behind Burnley lol

5 behind Luton but I think they would still manage to stay up ahead of them

Honestly getting seriously lucky that this is the one season where they are actually getting the punishment

Yeah, it's so annoying. They think it be 12 points combined as their first punishment could be reduced.

The PL have changed the rule so the punishment applies in the same season as their rule breaking but it's too late.

The more I read on 777 Partners, Everton are fcked regardless. Their owners has made a massive error. Couldn't pick have a worse potential investor.

They haven't been approved yet, although they've pumped in quite a bit of money already.

You've got to think they're having second thoughts.

Take every point off them. Watch them burn!

Everton won’t ever get relegated. They could be deducted 100 points and still stay up.

David Orstein….

“…..Everton and Forest are set to be informed they’ve breached PL sustainability rules (FFP) for the 3 years to 2023. It will likely mean both get a points deduction THIS season!”

:whistle::):Dlol:crylaugh::jump:

To be fair it was a paraphrase of a David Ornstein quote and not a direct quote.

I will remove the inverted commas before the lawyers descend ....

You are correct but they are already tied up in finance deals with them. And there's tons of evidence to suggest 777 don't have any if much liquid cash. You bust on those deals - you bust on the stadium. Ownership of that asset then gets murky.

So that relates to the period ending with the 2022/23 season now, and the 2 sides immediately above us being sanctioned. We've moved on, but it may actually be worth the club pursuing this legally now.

Love how someone at Forest decided last January that spending £12m on Chris Wood was sensible option despite being well in breach of the rules.

You say that.... but they managed to stay in the premier league....

We decided NOT to breach the rules and got relegated instead.

Would we, as fans,  rather have stayed up and faced a points deduction this year by ignoring the rules?? probably....

Premier League

Everton FC and Nottingham Forest FC have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This is as a result of sustaining losses above the permitted thresholds for the assessment period ending Season 2022/23.

In accordance with Premier League Rules, both cases have now been referred to the chair of the Judicial Panel, who will appoint separate Commissions to determine the appropriate sanction.

Commissions are independent of the Premier League and member clubs. The proceedings are heard in private with the Commissions’ final decisions made public on the Premier League’s website. The League will make no further comment until that time.

I'm still convinced that squad was good enough to stay up, with a different Manager and swapping Ward for Iverson earlier.

Yeah Brendan Rodgers might as well have written that himself
