Probably the most boring 45 minutes I've seen this season.

Doesn't sound like it's been particularly high octane or sapping for the players at least...

It helps if we utilise all our players, trio of ndidi, daka and KDH outside their box all unmarked.  But not a single pass in that area.

I'm trying to look at these games with a lens on next season. We can't play this style with this tempo and expect to have much success

We've seen this exact pattern of game play out at least 10 times already this season. The opposition are sitting in a deep low block and have to be switched on and concentrating for 90 minutes. It's hard to do that.

 

Next season if we are in the Premier League there will be a handful of teams at most that park the bus against us. None of the teams that look like getting promoted play that way, in the top flight only West Ham really seem to play that way these days.

 

Enzo said this game would be the hardest game of the season in his pre-match conference. Might sound like hyperbole, but it's because Rotherham aren't expected to get anything, so can defend like heroes for the entire game.
