This wouldn't be a total surprise, he's looked miserable all month especially coming off the pitch at the end of games. We'd said to ourselves a couple of times he'd have clubs tapping him up.

Nah, they've made decent money from sales, their wage bill is less than Fulhams, probably about 16th/17th in the prem wage-wise. They have been consistent since getting in the prem, both Financially and positionally, they won't suffer our fate.

When we started spending we had Barnes, Castagne on the books and had just got rid of Madders. I am pretty sure they also thought we would sell Daka (so did i to be fair) and likely Soumare. But there were potential sales pretty highly guranteed.

 

But now, we have run out of options. KDH is the last of the regarded players.

I'm sure you're joking, but it actually highlights another reason why this seems unlikely, and that is that, according to maresca, winks has taken KDH under his wing - why jeopardise such a connection?

Maresca has done a sterling job of managing the players, and he has improved KDH. But that doesn't this from happening, when it seems likely its just got to happen.

 

We have been screwed by FFP. It screwed us to relegation and this is the first major bump in the road since that. I thought everything ran a little too smoothly after we were relegated.

I'm guessing we need to sell to meet the FFP rules if we are promoted and selling January means the income is in this year rather than next years accounts if sold in the summer.

Reckon it's lazy journalism adding Brentford in to the rumour in an attempt to add more substance to the Brighton story. People see Brentford are also interested seeing as they are both very analytical and stats driven, the Brighton link seems more credible.

As cosbeh said the other week were in deep financial shit and need to sell in the summer regardless so maybe makes it better sense to sell now then leave it to a narrow 4 week window in June.

Agree, feels the most likely. We’d be mad to sell at this moment in time for footballing reasons, has to be something like this driving it.

Unless we force him to go then i cant see it. Said he wants to be the best player in the Championship this year and take us back up. Is he going to swap that for a squad place at Brighton when theres a very good chance we’ll be back there next year? Could see Maresca walking if key players are sold without his permission
