Could this redemption arc surpass even the Vestergaard one?  :jawdrop:

I'd be the 1st to hold my hands up and apologise if he does

A scapegoat

A scapegoat is a person or thing that is blamed for something bad that someone else has done.

Yeah I think he’s largely done those bad things himself - superb surge today, it was Crash Bandicoot with his mask on but it’s going to have take some consistency and time for him to make up for his time here

That run was why we brought him, to pick up the ball deep and run with it. Unfortunately we've just never seen it until today. Hopefully he can make more of an impact, but realistically he's only going to get a few minutes off the bench.

He looked like he could be arsed which is the main thing. His good game to bad ratio is still about 1:7 so I’m not holding much hope for a turnaround

His work for the goal is what I was hoping we would be getting when he joined. From what I remember of his stats he looked like a Mousa Dembele type who wasn't ever going to score or create many but would be very difficult to dispossess and excelled at driving forward with the ball. Unfortunately he does it about once a year which is not really enough and I think while the situation today suited him as we had all the ball and there was no danger of any opposition players running beyond him, I'm yet to see much evidence he's not a total liability out of possession. Whether you put it down to not being able to adapt to the pace of the league, a lack of focus or just plain laziness, we can't afford to carry a player like that.

Soumare hasn’t helped himself with his attitude but he’s not been played correctly for much of the time.

He’s been played as a defensive midfielder but he doesn’t have enough positional sense/discipline to do it successfully - I remember his first performance vs. Wolves when we was brought on to see out the game but it almost backfired and he didn’t play well.

When he’s got a defensive midfielder next to him and allowed to go off the leash, he’s tended to perform better for us.

If he comes in as an 8, that might work but not as a 6 as that won’t work.

So you're suggesting he's a blue rampant rabbit?

Well he can be a bit of a Cock sometimes when he stands in the middle of the pitch acting like a Royal Blue traffic cone !!

I've really liked him the last 2 games and he deserves a lot of credit.

That said, he strikes me as a player that would earn themselves a start and immediately resort back to being lazy.

You don't play like he has the last two games out of fluke, there's clearly a good player in there...

Controversial but if he could perform like he has done these last 2 games,  I'd pick him over Ndidi.

Has he upped his game because he wants a move in January? Think Matt Piper mentioned this mid-week. Or is it Cooper? Doesn't look the most confident individual. Perhaps he's helping with that side of things. Might help if our fans showed a bit more respect.

He's done more in a Leicester shirt today than he has at any point, bar the false dawn of that Wolves game.

As I did with Vesty -- and hope to do with Daka when he's back - I will gladly hold my hands up and say I was wrong if he turns around his career here, because more of THAT and he'll feel like a new signing.

As it stands though, he needs to do that EVERY game to win me round. The difference with Vesty and Patson is that they at least give off the vibe that they're triers, just lacking in something (pace, confidence, footballing intelligence in Daka's case).
In Bouba's case, it's been a case of him genuinely looking like he gives zero shits about anything. He can't even use the "I'm French" laissez-faire excuse - we remember this geezer and his passion - :knockyhat:

He's one of the few players over the years I've grown to genuinely hate, which is just tragic especially if there's a reason he's been such a half-arsed twat for so long. I think I need a goal from him and a full Akinbiyi shirt-rip before I start to warm to him. But I will begrudgingly accept that - so far - his redemption arc under Cooper is gaining traction. I might even hold in my groans the next time he comes on...

Dare I say it I've always thought there was a player in there.

Even in the first game against Man City(community shield) you could see it.

Confidence is massive in any walk of life. I still think he could come good here and in the Prem
