imo (and it’s not going to go down with some well) we should sell KDH (£40-45m) Luke Thomas (£3m 🤷🏻‍♂️) and Iversen (£3m) which would be ‘pure profit’, in ffp terms, them recruit purely free agents this summer.

 

I can see this being the only sustainable way we can go forward. Sad but true.

Would honestly rather take a punt on a free agent or academy product than watch Soumare sleepwalk through games for us again.

 

And yes, I know we've seen Vesty's redemption arc, but people skip the context of the fact he only played 10 times for us over 2 seasons before this year. Soumare was at the heart of our relegated midfield and produced one good performance (Wolves at home) and 25 shite ones.

 

By the same token we might as well stick Danny Ward back in goal. 🫣

Like when relegated, other teams will be aware of our need to sell quickly and pick us off. KDH regardless is nowhere near worth 40m+ anyway! We'd get 25m tops.

Depends if a club like Man Utd want him, for example. They will have to pay the 'big six tax' for him

I wonder if that's how we readdress some of the financial imbalance.

 

Any top 6 team pays a 20% levy on all purchases/ sales to other Prem teams.

Not sure it's revisionism or just the fact that some of us are aware it's hard to judge a player off their past few seasons under the previous management considering, the whole team was a shambles around them, they didn't get a consistent opportunity, and were largely played in a role that hadn't previously being conducive to their success. 

 

He's also a player who is on our books, one that we know we are most likely going to struggle to offload, is it daft to see what he could do under this current manager? I personally am happy to reserve judgement.

All players should get a reset under a new manager imo. Especially after a manager like bodgers. Him and his attitude ruined so many players. Those left deserve a reset from us fan's.

Difference between soumare and vestergaard is enzo deemed vestergaard good enough pre season and clearly didn’t with soumare as if remember right was missing from friendly squads etc? 
 

it’s a shame as first impression seeing him live was community shield and he hasn’t lived up to that, maybe second half against Moscow he was everywhere but hasn’t done that enough at all. 
 

in terms of selling we are going to struggle to not make a big loss on him, can see him being in squad next year through circumstance and not merit/choice.

Oh behave. Vesty predictably struggled against the pace which made him look poor, but he wasn't an 'utter disaster'. The same player looked good against Bournemouth, which is the level we will be looking to compete at next year. To be fair, the current teams performance against Chelsea was better than Rodgers effort.

Have a big part in two conceded goals and having a team mate sent off I would say constitutes a disaster. 
 

Reality is if he’s willing to accept a new contract (or that can give him a new contract), he will be here but let’s not make out he’s going to suddenly improve in the Prem. His pace is going to be repeatedly picked on.

we’re hardly going to get 40m for madison and 30 odd for barnes then demand 45 for kdh. 

 

Weve shot ourselves in the foot by letting them out the door on the cheap.

He was gash in 21-22 when we were way more functional than 22-23, started 12 league games.

 

Why would we burn ourselves with his wages again whilst his value depreciates even more? He has few discernible strengths. Sell, sell, sell.

With all the FFP Bullshit going on we will be juggling player sales like a used car lot. The problem with Soumare is that he is just a break even / loss  situation. We may just have to give him a chance & hope Enzo( if he sticks around) can turn him into a Premier league player.
