Gutted about Michael Madsen, always one of my favourite actors, Iconic roles in Tarantino films but I enjoyed his work in Thelma and Louise, Species and Donnie Brasco.

Virginia Madsen's tribute message to her older brother says it all. We've lost a legend, an iconic actor, a heavyweight in film. Gone too soon.

Tebbit, the man who wouldn't be told what to do by the unions in work or in Politics.  Stopped the unions forcing out those who didn't want to join in closed shop workplaces.

In the aftermath of the 1981 riots in Handsworth and Brixton, Tebbit responded to a suggestion by the Young Conservative National chairman, Iain Picton, that rioting was the natural reaction to unemployment:

I grew up in the '30s with an unemployed father. He didn't riot. He got on his bike and looked for work, and he kept looking till he found it.[16]

Sounds like he lived a full life:

 

Baumgartner dated Playboy German playmate of the century Gitta Saxx. Later he was engaged to Nicole Öttl, a model and former beauty queen (Miss Lower Austria 2006).

I have a 'Soccer Stars' sticker book (pre Panini days) from that era and both are featured. 

As an aside, the blank page at the rear of the book is for autographs. Pride of place is Peter Shilton. I remember saying 'Thank You' after he signed it and he ruffled my hair and said 'Good Lad' :)

One of the last times I had the longest living 3 grandparents all together for a regular family get-together was when this happened. I can still remember my gran's shock turning into into joy.
