I’d get behind Buzz Lightyear tbf, would command respect given the ages of the majority of our squad. edit: just seen this https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/01/how-to-become-a-football-agent-9836160/ Didn’t realise how connected he was to us, from Vardy to Brendan, but Enzo is also in his agency. And he has represented Potter in getting the Brighton job… Edited 9 June 2024 by FoxesWalk

Lionator Posted 9 June 2024 Posted 9 June 2024 Only recruiting managers/players from certain agencies seems like an act of self harm, is it common in the game? 1
ozvaldo Posted 9 June 2024 Posted 9 June 2024 My cousin was in La Manga last week and bumped into Gordon Strachan. Apparently he’s approached the club to offer himself as the new manager. 1 4

Damn you and your sensible viewpoint man , I may try and rabble rouse a group of people on here to vilify your opinion , condemn the forum for allowing such sense and call for banners requesting your head...... And that takes time. But also we've seen the club already handing out/offering contract extensions. And rumour has it that we have to make a sale (or sales) before the end of this month to comply with PSR. I'd like the new manager to at least have some say in the make-up of his squad. So I think the new man needs to be in before the end of this month. Maresca was appointed on June 16th last year and we are only a week away from that. 1

It would be good for a new manager to be employed before the players report back for pre season to give time to sort the back office stuff first. Enzo did that really well - remember in his first weeks he was brutal with getting backroom staff out and new ones in. Apparently made changes to training ground so it was just way he wanted. You are right though, I'd like to think they are not "messing around" but assessing who is available and the right fit.

Popular Post Scotch Posted 9 June 2024 Popular Post Posted 9 June 2024 People really need to manage their expectations on who we can attract. Let's look at where we are... A favourite for relegation. One of the weakest squads in the league. Possibly heavy restrictions on how much we can spend. Looking at least one points deduction for FFP. Possibly another for not submitting finances in time and potential punishment if we faulted last season. Run by a gaggle of idiots. We all would like an exciting up and coming manager who plays great football and can improve but there aren't many of them who would be attracted to our current position. It's also a risk. We took one last year with a manager in this mould and it worked out but we had a bit more room to do so as Enzo was coming in to the strongest squad in the league. The fact is, we CAN'T be turning our nose up to people like Cooper, Potter or Moyes as they are the options on par with the position we are in, sadly. Realistically, we need a manager to come in, keep us up for a few seasons whilst building foundations for a team that can kick on but do it on a budget whilst we steady the ship financially. The next manager after that will be the one to hopefully push on and take advantage of what this one needs to do. 8
Derby Blue Posted 9 June 2024 Posted 9 June 2024 It depends on their age and standing, but some managers may see an appointment as our manager as a free hit. With the big headwind they'll have, if they succeed in keeping us in the Prem it will be a big gold star on their CV, and if they go down fighting it will probably do them no harm.
boosmanana Posted 9 June 2024 Posted 9 June 2024 Getting relegated hasn't done Vincent Kompany's managerial career opportunities any harm has it?
Mike Oxlong Posted 9 June 2024 Posted 9 June 2024 Need a Ched Evans player-manager rumour to swiftly propel us beyond the 200 page thread count
