Yeah quite possibly, blooding a young center half in the Prem is completely different to giving a young winger 5 mins here and there.

How many total appearances do you think the lads in that photo make this season?

Alves will be included in the first team IMO. Obviously not all of them will, but I highly doubt the club have said “pop these lads together and we will take a photo, none of them will play next year”. Just a bit of a weird statement to make.

Alves is the only one who may get a chance off the bench/in the cups. Some of that is to do with his position, as well as his ability. (Like you say, different for attackers in comparison to defenders).

First team lads rate him.

Imagine he'll be used in the matchday squad this season.

In the era of 5 subs and high pressing, players who are starters and finishers is a thing. Seems like we brought him for exactly that, play 30 minutes a match till he's pushing for a starting berth.

McAteer I think would also fit into this category, though whether he wants that or the club want to cash in we don't know.

Alves I think could also be great as an option in the last 30 to drive at defences, but given his age and lack of experience would probably benefit from starting every week in the Championship instead.

With Alves especially if you’re good enough you’re old enough.

Much rather have him training every day with a coach who’s got youth team experience and getting minutes when situations allow rather than getting kicked for 90mins in the championship

Didn’t the Chelsea fans say he’s more of a classic 8/box to box type of player? Surely he’s a better option than playing with 3 DM’s.

you cannot convince me that Golding would not provide more quality to this team than what we are seeing in Lens right now.

Guessing this is against a youthful West Brom side as opposed to a Ligue 1 side ready for their season.

Having said that, I'm very surprised he didn't go to Lens. And disappointed. You don't spend as much as we have on him to just play in the reserves.

I assumed Golding was injured and that’s why he wasn’t involved against Lens, now I’m hearing he was fine and with the U21’s?? What’s the point of signing him for that amount of money and then not giving him proper time pre season?? I thought Cooper was keen to develop youth and yet he’s shown the exact opposite since he’s been here. Braybrooke, given no opportunity and Alves and Golding just a token few minutes.

Can anyone look me in the eye and say Daka would be able to do that against the same opposition?

I can’t look you in the eye and say Daka is capable of tying the laces on his boots without assistance.

I’m giving this a bump as whilst I fully recognise that the purchase of this lad was a PSR based exchange for KDH, he did have a good youth career and wondered how he was fairing in the U23’s…

I wondered if he was anywhere near the first team considering some of our recent struggles and if anybody had any up to date info on him?

Absolutely not. I’ve said it many, many times. He is nowhere near good enough for this level of football.

It was nothing more than a PSR exchange, Chelsea binned off a player they knew wouldn’t make it and got £8m for him.

Have you seen him play this year?

There is more chance of spotting the ultra rare Vaquita porpoise then seeing this lad in a first team shirt

Any games I’ve been to, he hasn’t played. Last season he showed nothing….. no pace, no strength, no real redeeming qualities, and that was at 23’s level. The likes of Briggs and Page are light years ahead of him.

Honestly, he will never play first team football at this level. League 1/2 might be about his level, but not this, he isn’t good enough.
