Wycombe was the big moment but there was a game against Arsenal during the festive period where we got properly slapped and Henry killed us which is where the wheels started to fall right off. Lost to Bradford at home the week after.

Couple of handy results right before Wycombe but it is insane Taylor stayed in a job that summer given the run post-Essandoh, absolutely brutal results against pretty piss poor opposition in the main.

I would go as far as to say that the 4-2 win over Spurs in the penultimate game of that season was the most ill fated result in our history.

Get Mark Robins in.

so you want to sack a manager that has shown he can get a side promoted AND keep them up, for one that hasn't done either despite being around far longer?

Whilst I disagree I can see why people want Cooper gone but to actually suggest Robins is just dumb

I wasn't being serious. It's nice to laugh at Cov and us though. Both shit with shit managers.

Let's face the reality. Both are shit.

Genuinely can’t stand this acceptance of well we’re not in the bottom 3 so we should be happy with Cooper. It’s more down to luck and there being some extremely poor sides in this division that we aren’t in the bottom 3. Fortunate has certainly been on our side with recent decisions and results.
We’ve got points in spite of Cooper not because of him. The sooner he’s gone the better.

But when Rodgers was here we'd seem to lose many times due to luck (amongst a few poor performances too). You make your own luck a lot of the time. Until we're flirting with the relegation zone more seriously (within 3 points) we have to keep him imo.

No we don’t. Show some ambition and get rid. He’s a championship level manager at best. Better options out there. Villa got rid of Gerrard when they were 3 points above the drop zone and got Emery in. Don’t leave it too late.
So by your logic if Ipswich or Southampton win at the weekend and we lose we should get rid because it will be down to 2 or 3 points off the drop?

We're out of the bottom three, he's achieving his target. Don't know what folk are expecting really.

I've not been impressed with Cooper and struggle to understand what system we're trying to play, but fair play to him, the team are not in the bottom 3, which is the aim this season. However, I'll take another look at how well he is doing when we've all played each other once. If we are still where we are now, I think that would be a decent achievement for the first half of the season.

International break after this weekend fixtures? Cooper gone if we lose tomorrow?

I would be amazed if he's gone before the new year regardless of results. I think we would need to be well entrenched in the bottom three for any action to be taken but all the teams down there are so shit it's difficult to see any of them streaking away from us even if we have a rotten couple of months. The fact there's not been so much as a hint that he might be in the slightest bit of danger tells me that as long as we continue to scam a few points here and there, he's safe as houses no matter how shit we're playing.

He's definitely not going. Even if we got destroyed. There are enough shit teams doing poorly that it's going to take a combination of us being shite and other rivals down the bottom to start changing their own fortunes around, and I don't think that looks all that likely if you watch them.  Results against the also rans at the wrong end of the table could well be enough for us.

Saints look shite, Ipswich are struggling and despite a win today Wolves look crap as well. That's without factoring in Everton, West Ham and Palace.  Even as we are we can finish above those 6.  We might not, but I think they'll bank on at least getting it half right.

I agree with what you’re saying but it’s a very negative approach. Let’s hope 3 sides are worse than us and we can get less loses than them. If we’re shit it doesn’t matter as long as 3 other sides shitter than us.

Playing with some ambition. Playing to the strengths of the players he has. Adjusting when things are going badly. Having different ideas to utilise. Just some things off the top of my head.

We all know in honesty the win at Bournemouth was lucky as they should have converted their chances and the win at Southampton happened once they went down to ten men as did the draw at Ipswich. Do the Cooper in people think this luck will last, because don't get me mistaken, it is luck. I hope it continues but I am not optimistic.
