He’s a water carrier who looks constantly distressed like he’s fighting fires all game, the ball is like a hindrance to him. Maybe he was seen as a replacement for K DH if not exactly the same type of player but with Winks mainly starting, Ndidi dropping back to his old DM role and then Soumare being the preferred cover for Wilfs injury, it appears he wasn’t needed and with our budgets so tight what a waste that was. It’s not like he’s got development potential either. “He’s not phased by the PL, by going away to big clubs, he knows the league” etc isn’t justification enough. I’d hoped it had something to do with having an understanding with Winks through their development together at Spurs like two pieces of a jigsaw but no. We just didn’t need him, I can’t call him a luxury but he’s like a pointless insurance policy. A RB or combined with Okoli’s fee a much better CB would have been a better use of funds or a LW.

Really reeks of an agent seeing us lose KDH and do a salesman trick on us, any £25 million player should have been integral to us week in week out this season.

I didn’t say he was or wasn’t. But whilst we are comparing them we will lose the £12 m fee for him and I can see us losing just as much on skipps purchase price. That money could have been spent elsewhere on a player(s) who could have helped keep us up in the relegation battle. There is a lot in common here with regards to the impact of not buying wisely. The real blame lies with management.

The management has the system in place to ensure what happened with Ward should not happen. If the player is out of form, doesn’t fit the system or simply not good enough then the manager doesn’t put them on the team sheet. If the manager proves incompetent then the senior management get someone in who is better. Just as in any workplace it is too often the junior staff who pay the price of incompetence and lethargy of those at the top.

Spurs really have had our pants down with Skipp having already rubbed our noses in it with Maddison.

Only Rudkin could get absolutely mugged by Spursy signings.

Spurs have had our pants down with this signing. I bet they couldn't believe their luck when we matched their fee!

Mental that we essentially got Winks & Skipp for £10m + Maddison.

Don't even think it would be in Rudkin's bottom 10 deals.

Another Spurs reject through the door in the upcoming summer to wipe out the other £10m

No defining attributes coming from a club where he was just retained as he came through the youth. He is abysmal and an absolute waste of precious cash.

We seem to have lurched from one reasonable summer of recruitment followed by a terrible one since winning the league. The summers of 2016 2021 and 2024 being particularly dire.

The price tag is the issue.

If we'd have got him closer to his actual value then he'd not be being discussed.

We've payed way over the odds for a player we don't need. It's rankling.

I believe like soumare early on in his leicester career we're trying to use him as the more defensive player in the pivot when it doesn't suit him, they both need a dm to properly get the best out of them

Does anyone understand this transfer yet? Totally bizarre and adds nothing to the squad.

Even more Bizarre is Eduoard, like why? Just why? Why have a bloke, pay his wages and not even put him on the bench? Who made this decision and why? Now we need to just play him.

I can only guess that all previous Tottenham managers said such positive things about him that Rudkin shot his bolt and thought he was getting a future England captain.

If he was 10m we'd say hmm we tried but it didn't work. I bet they couldn't believe it when they seen our offer.

Genuinely up there with our worst signing ever. Not so much based on lack of individual ability but more so because of what it has stopped us from doing.

What has it stopped us from doing? It's likely we would have spent the money poorly anyway if we hadnt signed him.
