He’s just a very run-of-the-mill championship player.
 

Nothing wrong with that - it’s where we find ourselves - but given our recent history and the supposed quality of our players, it feels like a downgrade. Our supposedly better players all putting in dog-muck performances or having attitude problems really has lowered the bar, but Skipp is doing alright and I’m happy to keep seeing him in the starting XI for now.

His price tag was bonkers but that’s not his fault.

 

Hes one of the few non-youth players who I’d be happy for us to keep whilst we rebuild, tbh.

As by magic, he's played in his best position and suddenly he's quite good

He will always get stick when he has had a bad game because of the price we paid for him which is not his fault , hopefully finally finding his feet again and could be a very important player for the rest of the season

Broke everything up and may not have the natural ability like James to pass between the lines,  his ability to see any pass early has been excellent. 

Coupled with his ability to break things up makes him a rock in front of the back line. 

 

Reads the games so well in this position.

 

Hopefully he kicks on from here.

He was always likeable, to me at least. Just horribly mismanaged (like many others) and thrown to the wolves thanks to an absurd fee 5 or 6 times the going rate.

Has benefitted massively from having a mobile, physical midfield partner in James. Both of them have been fantastic last couple of games.

Keep proving us wrong Skippy. Long may this form continue, right now he's playing like a player that would make his fee look reasonable, but he needs to keep this form up to justify it yet.
