That was crap but at least we won.

I guess we just have to accept that under Cooper, we’ll be crap but will sometimes get a win if the opposition have an off day.

Yay.

Happy we got our first win. But unfortunately I think it's just papering over the cracks. Wasn't a good performance. Starting 11 needs looking at again. Wrong subs at wrong times. We rode our luck so much today. Any other day we could of lost if Bournemouth could finish.

glad we got win, but as mentioned, it sort of papers over some of the cracks

we looked good in spells first half, but second wasnt great

poor man management from cooper with his changes imo, dont know what Fatawu has done either to not be starting

Huge relief to get a win. Am I reading too much into the seeming lack of celebration from the players and manager at the final whistle? Maybe I missed something, but those 3 points are important.

Regardless of the result, we were pretty poor 2nd half. I still don't think Ayew should be a starter, and Fatawu was bright when he came on, showcasing what we were missing without him. I do understand why Justin is being preferred at RB right now as it's getting plenty out of his athleticism. I still miss Ricardo though.

The "tactics" and in-game management are just a bit shit though, aren't they? Surely nobody can deny it's a hard watch. Very much still Cooper Out, and I don't think he knows what he's doing. He's not getting enough out of the squad we have.

Exactly what happens when a Championship side with a Championship manager play in the Premier league, a good scrap with a lucky win, hopefully everyone learns and improves, celebrate its a win, 3 pts,

10 more wins should be enough because there are several teams worse than us.

I think Cooper is shit, but what happens when a championship with a championship manager plays in the Premier League is what you’re seeing at Southampton, pal.

A winning goal of sublime class. The way he dropped the shoulder to fool the defender into thinking he was going outside before cutting on to his left was so so good. And then came the unstoppable finish.

It’s superior talent like that which wins you games in the Premier League. And we’ll need more of the same to survive because Cooper’s indecipherable tactics, hideously bad in-game management and incessant caution are seemingly incurable handicaps that we can only hope to counterbalance with moments of individual brilliance to get the wins we need.

Not dissimilar from Southgate’s England at Euro 2024.

But we have better players than a championship side. The players are lower prem, the manager is league one

3 points which is great but it was a goal from a moment of brilliance rather than design by a manager.

Turgid football in the second half set up to at least get a draw.  You could see Vardy and even Faes waving players to move up the pitch yet the didn’t even bust into a jog.

Poor subs again 15 minutes after Bournemouth made theirs, they made no difference anyway.  Ayew nullifies attacks that would flow if Fac was in the middle. Ndidi was useless after 60 mins as usual, watching players jog by him and afraid to tackle.

Okoli played better as the game progressed, hopefully will learn as he goes on. Mavadidi tried to do too much as the support isn’t great around him, Ayew kept dropping near him but no one filled the space he left.

There's a lot saying that we gave the ball away too easily but this is what happens when you don't have Winks in there, literally dropping deep to take the ball off the defence. Neither Skipp nor Ndidi like doing that. Winks hasn't had his best season but his job is to keep it neat and keep the ball. This half-baked system makes it almost impossible to do that.

This side is crying out for

                                    Mads

Ricardo........Okoli..............Faes.............Justin

                      Skipp/Ndidi........Winks

Fatawu.............. Buonanotte.............. Mavididi

                             Vardy/Cannon

But this guy just won't do it. Would rather player journeymen in safe positions than coach younger players and make them better. Not overly keen on JJ at LB but Kristiansen looks lost and has no idea when and how to play with Mavididi.

I actually thought that there were odd examples of off body language today. There is definitely something off, and it’s no surprise, Vardy looked irritated to me, like he did towards the end of Puel’s time with us. It’s not a happy camp, not at all…. And it makes me wonder if this will eventually force the boards hand.

Can I explain something mate? In all the time Iv watched football teams losing attack to try and get a result the team defending tries to stop them as we did. We should have had a penalty we didn’t we won ffs we won deal with it because this is going to be a long season for you. Either that or stick to football manager

Can I explain something to you mate??

Teams can also attack when they’re ahead.

If the team keeps on grinding out results and stays out of the relegation zone, I doubt the board will give a **** about the players’ body language. It may be a grim watch, but if Cooper’s mandate is survival, he’s currently on track to deliver it. The board won’t do anything unless that changes.

What about if Vardy had scored one of the two really good chances he had?

What about if the ref had given the stonewall penalty we should have had?
Would it then be a case of fantastic, brilliant Leicester??

Look, it’s not pretty, but the only thing we’re looking for this season is survival, so let’s enjoy the wins when we get them - there’s still 4 teams that would have loved a scrappy back to the wall win from somewhere this season.

I don’t disagree with anything you have written here, but still nothing that has happened today can raise Coopers stock - I do still agree that this win was not down to cooper but can still be in spite of Cooper.

You are talking like an entitled bell 🛎️ e you really need to give your head a wobble ! You dont seem to realize how far we have fallen! You think we can dust off and end up challenging for Europe. Absolutely deluded

Daft lad.

I’m full aware of how far we have fallen and I think you’ve walked into the middle of a conversation with not a clue with what’s gone on. The original point made was this is a win that had happened not because of cooper but in spite of him and I fully agree with that.

But he stops us suffering wave after wave of attacks, like today, is crucial we have an out ball. Not every out ball needs to lead to an attack, it is also useful to relieve the pressure. (I know how tedious that sounds)

If only there was another way of playing, or a different tactic to stop “wave after wave of attacks” versus Bournemouth at home??

Thank goodness we have Ayew falling over as our match winning tactic!
