He bailed out Vesty a few times in the first half.

The lad can play football but having to bail out the Pylon on an ongoing basis is a bit much. Can the club just make some kind of deal with Vesty & get him gone.

Personally, I've always liked Okoli. He does have his moments, but they are less than the rest. He loves defending and you can tell by the way he celebrated a few blocks when he did play (one celebration against Man Utd last season). He is big and powerful. He'll be a beast in this league and hopefully with Nelson as his partner.

I never understood why RvN didn't play him the twit. I said last season and I'll stand by it that I'd prefer Okoli over Faes and/or Vesty any day.

I couldn't agree more. It's very apparent that RVN never had a Scooby about the art of management. !!

Agree with the likes, when he did play he instantly brought mobility to the position, suddenly the gaps between full back and CB weren’t so much of a problem whereas Vestergaard or Coady couldn’t cover ground like that. And he could change Direction without having to apply for planning permission first. He immediately gave his partner, his nearest full back and the keeper some assurance and confidence.

Itd be nice if the manager knows that most of the crowd are prepared to give Okoli and Nelson some slack, if the alternative is Vesty and Faes (who I kinda both like personally in many ways, but time has come to move on)

Personally, I think both have qualities that far outweigh any inexperience.

Nelson just looks the part. Kinda a John Stones vibe at that same age. Okoli, his physique aside, showed me something with his goal at Brighton that his attitude is spot on

Nelson and Okoli partnership is such an obvious choice, it will be the first test for Marti and I hope he plays them from game 1.

They will be like two new signings for us and I think would be far more motivated for the challenge, compared to Vesty and Faes.

Would love to get rid of both Vesty and Faes, but understand that we might end up being stuck with both, so I hope Marti doesn't feel compelled to start them.

Vestergaard really has to go even if it means paying a part of his contract off.    It’s the World Cup year and we need to tell him that he is not gonna play for Leicester at all and he needs to find another club

He hasn't given a shit about this previously. This is why I particularly dislike him.

With the greatest respect,  Vestergaard and Faes will be better than 90% of the defenders in the Championship.

In 23/24, we conceded 41 goals in 46 games, the best in the division. Now that’s not exactly Burnley levels last season, however it’ll suffice.

We aren’t going to release players, that the fan base don’t like. They’ll be kept around to try and do a job to get us back to the Premier League.

Vestergaard will go at the end of the season I’d imagine and for this season, I’d see him being partnered by Okoli.

But they are useless when they face attackers.  They slow down and stink out the play too often.  I hate watching JV on the ball, if he doesn't pass in 10 seconds to the open players ready to counter, you know he will hold onto the ball for way too long till he gets pressed, roll it back and put the keeper under pressure.

It will really help his confidence when we keep a clean sheet in a 3-0 win on Sunday. I bet he barely even has to do anything in that game too 👀

I agree that Vestergaard and Faes can play at the Championship level but neither are good enough for the Premier so we need to develop younger players while saving money. Getting promoted is only half of the battle, we will need to be financially stable with young nucleus of players that can make the transition

With the amount of fast, physical forwards being bought in the championship this year, a defender like Okoli will be a real asset. I was super impressed with him against Fiorentina, when previously he’s looked rash.

Could be a huge season for him.

It's a big ask for top tier international squad members to be happy playing in the championship in a world cup year. I'd expect Vestergaard, Faes, Hermansen, Okoli all to massively want away based on that, in case their international managers. Okoli.maybe in January after a super strong start to the Champ season.
