Desperatley need a winger with Fatawu out. Mavididi is the only natural winger we have and there is a massive lack of pace and trickery in the squad. Philogene on loan maybe if we cant find a permenant? Wouldnt surprise me if they looked at Almiron

Forest open to Awoniyi leaving.

we should be all over that.

Can't loan anymore players from the PL and he's far too injury prone to take him on a permanent.

Centre half starter

right back starter- desperate

left back cover

centre mid cover

wing starter - desperate

I reckon we get 1 or 2 max from the 6 needed

Given we have a habit of looking closer to home, what about Borja Sainz at Norwich?

23, 15 goals from left wing and contract ends on 2026 so into his last 18 months.

I haven’t actually seen him play so might be crap but his numbers seem good.

More to see if anyone else has watched much of him as I haven’t seen his name mentioned but might be because people on this thread get over excited about players in markets we should (but don’t) show an interest in.

Nah I love the shout mate, one I've also thought could be an astute buy considering he seems to be popping them in consistently. Don't think Norwich have a sniff this year of going up even through play-offs so probably one to look out for.

It’s the first year his numbers have been as good so that’s why I wondered if anyone has seen more of him that would indicate whether he is showing his true form now given he is still quite young.

Also a lot has been made of Wasserman who are his agents….

I liked the look of him last season too. There were a few games I saw of theirs and he stood out. He's improved massively in terms of goals by the looks of it but I've not seen any of their games this season.

Spoke to some Norwich fans who reckoned he was a bit of a luxury player and that his goals and assists don't really reflect his performances but they seemed to be the type that prefer a midfielder that gets stuck in as opposed to a winger that drifts in and out of games. Seems to turn up in the easy games yet can't be found when they play the better teams. The best team he's scored against is probably Middlesbrough and he doesn't have a goal in his last 6.

I'd say purple patch instead of great player. I don't think he's much of an upgrade over Mavididi.

Send OE back then try & loan McAtee who can cover the RW, AM & CM positions leaving any funds to get in perm defensive starters.

We don’t have a single goal scored from outside the box this season. We need someone who can score the occasional banger to give the squad and our fans a lift.

Not sure who we’ll get in but surely especially defensively signings will be in by the time we face palace and Fulham at home. Those 2 are definitely winnable.
But knowing us it’ll be the last week of January and by then too late.

Get Mahrez and Kanté in on loan for a nice little swan song

Hope we’re looking at Richard Kone. Great story as well, from homeless to non league to the best striker in League one.

The more I think about it, the less I agree with this.

Given how little money we probably have to spend, I don't think it should go on attacking options at all.

Obviously you have to cross your fingers and hope they stay fit but a front four of Vardy, Bilal, Buonanotte and one of Mav/Ayew/BDCR playing in front of two of Ndidi, Skipp, Winks and Soumare is probably enough to keep us in the league this year with good enough coaching (over to you, Ruud.)

What isn't good enough is the defence. Vestergaard's the only one I'd happily keep playing and even that's because he's so good on the ball, he still needs babysitting by a competent defender. The CB that plays next to him needs to be dominant, strong in the air (you don't survive in this league if none of your CBs are dominant in aerial duels), have eyes in the back of his head and be fairly mobile. It's the number one area we need to invest in.

Then we also need full backs, badly. JJ has probably cost us more goals this year alone than he has in the rest of his career to date, it's becoming Ward levels of meme. Ricardo's never going to be fit and VK is average at the back and poor going forward.

The attack can just about hold itself together but if we don't sort the defence out we are gone.

Kieran Tierney is apparently in talks with going back to Celtic. I would love to have him and would be an upgrade on Kristiansen. Unfortunately, it's probably not a priority this window.

I'm coming around to this. I really, really want us to sign a winger to push Ayew to a bench option, but it's our defence that has to be prioritised. If nothing else, we need a CB and RB.

Sell Faes at a minimum, bench Justin, and replace both with a first choice CB and first choice RB. No pressure, Rudders.

Oh we definitely need a RB this window. I just think equally we’ve got no chance of staying up if we are left with Mavididi, Mcateer and Ayew as our wingers

What if the incoming winger was a loan deal? 1-2 loans seems inevitable in this window.

Of course the defence needs the most surgery, but we also severely lack pace in the forward areas, especially on the wings. Mavididi’s form is patchy, arguably the jury is still out on whether he is even Premier League calibre. We have no alternative to him in terms of what he brings, pace and 1 vs 1 ability being the two key aspects.

Surely we need someone, even if it’s just a loan, that can bring some added pace and 1 vs 1 ability to the team 🤔
